What would be better im growing 3 AK48's, im currently using 200Watt Dual Spectrum CFL at the moment, but could get a 600Watt HPS, mates rates :P, but whats concerning me is, whats the electric bill going to be like if i change over to a 600Watt HPS.....Im Only Growing 3 Ak48's at a time, but am wanting 2oz or over..... with good smoke :)
Any Advice Regarding this?

Go with 600 watt. They are not that expensive to run, and yield will be dramatically increased.

600 only cost like $40-$45 a month to run 18/6 so it will be even cheaper once you flower
I run 600... $40-45 a month added onto your already high bill really sucks... Makes me wanna do solar.

i agree 600w hps as your flowering light. Also just something to keep in mind when shopping, you want a reflector thats air cool, if you live anywhere where its already warm-hot, you need an air cooled reflector. The other thing to look at is the coverage area of a reflector, then compare it to the actual size of the reflector, ive seen some retailers claim 4'x'4 coverage but the fixture is only like 18 inches wide. Their getting four x four coverage but thats with the fixture 5 feet above the canopy. Amazon has some decent ones ( by decent i mean wont burn down your house), i personally run an ipower 600w, comes with an hps and MH buld. Plus you get hangers. for like $200. I dont know that much about that brand but the ballast seems really nice. Visually... (i dont know that much about magnetic vs digital ballast, think the newer digital ones were burning thru bulbs faster... But the magnetic ballast cost a good bit more... Good luck

Has to be the 600w.

YOU WILL NOT GET 2oz A PLANT USING A SINGLE 200w cfl.

But there is alot of heat to deal with when you go to hps.

Expect a few hundred dollars in equipment to setup.

600watt all the way mate there not that expensive to run and you will see a huge diffrence but your going to have to sort some ventilation out for a small space like yours youl need 2fans 1 intake and 1 exhaust

I would rather pay an extra 50 dollars a month in electricity than 100 for every quarter of weed i smoke.

Good glad to know that i found something in my price range, if i get let down :)
What about ventilation?

You'll need something like a SYSTEMAIR RVK150E2-A1 fan in order to remove the heat created by this light.
Then if smell will be a concern a filter will be required also.

There's a further £150.

If you plan to grow up to 4 plants then a 400w is the ideal hps for you.

A 600w hps will allow you to grow between 4-6x 2-3ft tall plants.

I use a 400w with 4 2ft tall plants and average over 400g these days from each harvest.

right im growing 3x AK48's, So Ill Only Need 400Watt HPS, which will allow me to get 2 - 3ft each plant.... averaging how many oz? and smell is not a concern :)

No doubt, but if your just starting your grow, be prepared to be doing BOTH. I had a friend of mine say "oh well once your equipment has paid for its self then it's Basicly like you have an unlimited supply of free smoke..." This made me laugh. I know for me, for the amount of money I've put into my grow I could have bought a years worth of bud... But then again when your dealing with Mother Nature for the first time your bound to have some issues. I'm just hoping that once I do harvest, it will be worth it, which I'm sure it will Be.

Hold on there cowboy.

Yields aren't guaranteed things. There is alot that can go wrong before harvesting occurs.

For new hps growers I tell them to expect around 0.5g/w. so 200g from a 400w.

If your environment is dialed in and you feed correctly without over feeding then easily 2oz per plant.

Once you learn to read what the plants are saying to you, then you can start to reap the rewards of happy plants.
