Jack's Classic growers

figured i would start a thread on what i use for nutes. i seen all the other nutes sold at hydro shops posted and figured i cant be the only 1 on here using it. i use just the 20-20-20 for my veg plants and the 10-30-20 for my flowering plants(nothing else). i grow in coco coir mixed with some perlite. using these 2 tubes(1.5lbs each)of nutes last me a while and cost me about $32 with shipping. feel free to post what jack's classic you use and if you use anything else from them or with them here. bongsmilie:bigjoint::weed:

i use, have used them. I tried the combo of those 2, they worked good. Then just using the 20-20-20 worked better, then I switched to the citrus 20-10-20 I am seeing good results with it. I think the best results so far have really been with foliage pro from DG though.

I use jacks in my soil grows and it works great but how are you not having a cal/mag issue in coco-perlite mix?

i have well water about 480ppm(i dont drink it) high in cal and some lime i believe. i have to clean my shower head and faucets with vinegar a couple times a year. and clean my pots after i remove the plant for transplant.

couple of my clones in gallon pots need their nutes up but other then that i only have a couple spots on flowering plants at the bottom. when ever i move im fucked lol im so used to my well water. and those spots are on plants that are like 3' tall, full pix of them in my grow journal.

Jack's classic isn't exactly intended to work with hydroponic setups. I'm sure it's possible as many people have done it, but it's not ideal.

Jack's hydroponics line, however, is different in that it provides a soluble form of calcium (calcium nitrate) and a low urea and ammonium content.

Soil based nutrients tend to get a bulk of its N from urea instead of calcium nitrate, and thus expecting the soil to provide calcium through limestone (insoluble). Hydro based nutrients get the bulk of their N and all their Ca from calcium nitrate.

Jack's professional hydroponics is a 2 part dry mix, where 1 of the parts is actually greenhouse grade calcium nitrate.

Its not the brand that matters. You will get all different comments, from, its shit! to, its the shit! Jacks, Peters, and the dreaded Miracle Grow all will produce just as well as the name brands like Dyna or AN. Its not rocket science if you know what they need and when. JAS

The simplicity of Jacks products really produces good, healthy plants for such a low cost per plant.
Tried Fox farms, which in all honesty worked okay. Basically went three bottles each run.. Just ran into few problems with deficiencies and at times over fertilization. Nothing a flush couldn't correct. Each round of plants costed me many times more in comparison to Jacks which was probably less than 5 $ from start to finish, if that. No deficiencies to speak of either.
Tried organic, but found it to be inaccurate levels when I would brew a tea. Either too hot (yes I cut it with water), or not enough. Definitely an art to it which one day I will try again.

I just think for the value and results, Jacks products are up there. I hear dynogrow is some good shit, and perhaps I 'll give it a go.

Yes different products can get you where you need to go, but why spend more on watered down, fancy labelled, expensive bottles?

Only other stuff I use is botanicalcare silica, as it seems like it improves stem strength (unscientific clone experiment, want to look into it more), and fulvic acid which I'm just using up and don't think I really need it.

have used Jack's 20-20-20 for many years, dating back to the early Peter's years. great stuff.
I use the Classic and the Citrus. Wish that's what I would have done from the start. Every time I see a thread with a question "what's wrong with my plants? " and they are running 5-9 bottles of over priced shit, I just want them to realize that if they were using Jacks they probably wouldn't be having these problems.
Everything ya need in one or two tubs (hydro) . Micro,
Macro and so easy to get and keep healthy plants. Plus ones wallet will be happy.

I wanted to say that i made a post with this post i think we put to much in nutes..If you grew something with miracle grow then you know it works for outside my experiences show me that.so i used lots of different kinds of nutes gh fox farm earth juice, technaflora, advanced nutrients mynute im tring now nectar for the gods. G h works good fox farm burns plants if your not careful earth juice is good so is technaflora advanced nutrints overdrive is good miracle gro works good too i grew trees with it one bud was the width of a two liter coke bottles.. i still use rose food from MG for my rose.

Jacks all the way indoor, outdoor, or greenhouse its all you need for great buds not that you can't do good with anything else though but if you spend more I really don't give a fuck cause it aint my grow. I'd rather spend extra money on seed not watered down nutrients cause we all know its genetics that grow the best smelling, tasting, yielding and potent plants not the nutrients unless you just can't figure out how to feed them properly.

Couldn't agree more. Hope you don't mind the short passage I added. Simplicity is key, especially for someone starting out.

i figured this thread could use some pix of plants grown from just jack's classic nutes. im running a 400 watt mh magnetic ballast with a plantmax 360 watt hps conversion bulb(hoping to upgrade to a 600 watt hps soon). i grow in coco coir mixed with some perlite. my water is well water with 460-560ppm. using mostly just the 20-20-20 all purpose nutes but using some of the 10-30-20 bloom booster also here and there during flowering. sorry the pix kinda suck i used my cell and holding a 105watt cfl for light.
