Pic Update:11/08/2011 Hey guys, It's late in the night but it is still Tuesday(at least where I am) so I thought I'd give you all an update into what's going on in my neck of the woods. I have a pretty killer headache so I am going to make this short and go get medicated after so here it goes.

Lemon Skunk: Flowering

So today they had their first dose of Blue Planet Nutrients: Farmer's Pride and I am sure they are loving it. Right now I am using the Bloom mixture and I will use the Monster bloom starting next week. Both main girls got 3500ml each and my clones for 500ml each.

#1 Is looking good and she got herself a natural haircut today. I took off some of the progressed yellow leaves that were pretty much falling off anyways. You can see some of them still attached but I predict she will most likely lose them all by next week this time. Her trichomes are getting crazy for sure. The buds are very frosty and so early on I am excited to see how things go in the next few weeks. Here are a couple shots.

#2 Is also looking nice. The main top cola is so fat its insane. The thing about that is I know the --- products are going to make them swell even more so I'm just all around pumped to see where it goes. No yellowing on the leaves yet so I'm guessing #1 matured way early compared to this one. Trichome production is moving along nicely. I'm thinking about half harvesting to let the bottom popcorn buds get some weight.

Group Shot:

Lemon Skunk Clones: Flowering

Tallest of the clones is 9" and the shortest is almost 7". Not much to say individually so I will just generalize. They are all doing great and healthy. #1.1 has really small leaves compared to the #2.x clones. Pistils are shooting everywhere so I am hoping to gain a couple more inches before they go into full bud production. these clones have gotten nothing but --- Products since their lives and being rooted so this should be a great grow environment.

Warning!!

Bud Porn Inbound

So I have about under two weeks before I chop #1 and I thought I would get some macro shots to show everyone the extent of how frosty they are now. #1 is about 60% cloudy and 2-5% Amber. The rest are clear and turning cloudy. She has almost lost all of her main fan leaves and looking better and better.

Mini Pic Update: 11/25/2011 So this Update is long overdue since I have been busy with everything, Harvest and life. I have a few things to go over since then.

#1 is hanging up still and will be until about Tuesday. I am totally excited to Jar this girl and check the total weight. So far things are looking good and it is having no issue so far(no mold) The humidity has been kinda high in my area but I have Air purification so I am not worried about mold too much.

#2 possibly had a mild nutrient burn on top of natural leaf aging. Her Calyxes haven't swelled yet so I still might have about a week more. I will adjust my schedule to get the best possible smoke so she will be ready when she is ready.

The Clones are doing great. They have been dealing with a bit of neglect because of how busy I have been but they toughed it out and I am back giving them some love. #1.1 is pretty small with fat buds. The #2 clones have longer buds with a fat center. Either way, they both are gonna give me some awesome smoke.

All the info of how many days of flower are in the labels to show you where I am at with everything. I'm pretty medicated right now so I think I left out a bunch of stuff. So I hope everything makes sense. I will edit if I messed up anything.

The jar looks great with the nugs in place. I have never grown LS to tell you if the strain itself have dense nugs. But from what I've seen with multiple strains grow is that some are fluffy while others are dense as diamond.

so if anyone remembers back to me saying LS2 had the more round tight nugs i was used to seeing....that must have been the dense pheno and this turned out to be the fluffy one....

Here are some pics of today. #2 in her final hour before giving me her Flowers! Also, the aftermath of devastation.

so thats 2 diff plants above both with buds like i normally see.....no fluffy buds....its either the 4 weeks of the new light fluffed ls1 up or the swing in night temp to day temp...no rad in her room and it gets COLD.....

i have also noticed some rust spots on some tops leafs.......interesting thing is there only being found on the sides of the buds that are directly in-line with the fan......

this fan is new, and much stronger then my old one.........strong wind on the buds would cause extra evaporation.....plants response is to foxtail to allow moisture to evaporate over a bigger surface area........ensuring that the buds dont rot.

the thing that gets me is that my buds have such a good shape to them they should have filled in like above........and im sure when i reduced nutes, the major foxtailing began.....this would go with the theory that the p was holding up the N (i had quite dark green shinny leafs) and when i reduced the p the N was released causing extra stem development......the leaf claw i saw appear minamally would also link to this as its a sign of too much N....im sure this is not genetic and must be a defence when the conditions are stressing the plant......

That shot from above, of the one big cola, was really beautiful.

A very nice grow. Thanks for sharing.

It has a good look at SWOG too. "The tallest in the garden" ....yeah, mine exploded!

....and there it is. One is just nuggier than the other. The other did sound like it might
still be useful for a cross, as it had the stronger Lemon scent.

my thoughts exactly man....he also mentions that the one with the thinner leafs is the fluffy pheno....and i remember you lott saying how thin her leafs were.....i also just realised.....the fan i have been using has been facing downwards onto the busd in a fixed position, ill need to look through later and see when the foxtailing started too happen, it could be a case of me not knowingly scorching the tops by blowing hot air from the lamp onto the tops........if this is the case it must have ment my last mum was the opposite pheno and managed to take all that light burn and still not foxtail....

i am hopeing another run of ls1 will tell me for sure, i also think i could mainline them better also.

the guy in that vid says he mainlineing and clearly that hasnt stressed them and is not the cause....

UPDATE

LS1.1
is yellowing out bottom up through nitrogen deff......this is because her new roots havent touched the res yet, a few more days and shell be eating and drinking......

with her mum i went heavy on the feed because the soil one greened up after a few days leading me to belive that this is what she wanted....this is hydro and about what i want...so 5ml per 10Ltr of dutch pro with 3.5ml of ph down for veg and 10mlDP with 3mlPH down for flower....

this is the first plant i let get that green and i belive its a disadvantage in hydro as LS1 had very deep dark green leafs untill late in flowering...

LS1

nutes reduced to 5ml.....i am noticeing lower fan leafs starting to yellow up turning lighter and lighter green, the sample bud i had was quick dried and sooooo smooth so i will no longer spend 2 weeks starving my plants, and feed them untill the end reducing the nutes so 10ml of DP week 2 - 7.... week 8 drop to 5ml.....week1 trannsition 7ml DP and 3.25ml of PH down......

so she now has 5ml in her tank, and leafs are sowing n def signs slowly.....does this mean i need to keep feeding? if the 5ml solution dissapears after 2 days as they have been i will know shes hungry untill the end if the rate at which its absorbed drops i will know when shes done eating and happy to die!! lol

LS3

cold temps have made germin my last 2 beans tricky, but ls3 is above ground de shelled and i am waiting to see the white leafs turn green..

LS4

sprouted a taproot and stopped growing shes been placed in jiffy and covered in cling, shes warm with 100% humidity, was a very small seed...one that looks like it shouldnt have made the grade if you ask me,,,,so fingers crossed....

looks like all hope of finding the opposite pheno rest in LS3.....go on you beauty!!!!.....(untill i buy another pack!)

You already know what your doing. So the only thing I can do is sit back and watch the grow. Excited about this one also. As I would like to get a hold of this genetic also.:weed:

Yea fan blowing hot air down would be my bet for your foxtailing. Nearly every time I seen it and it not been genetic (and usually in breeder descript) its been from environment, and heat is the issue. Better to have the fan canopy level straight on, or slightly under canopy aimed up words

haha i wish!! but thanks man,.......i want that jumper soooooo bad....

....so i think its safe to say with my constant posting in the last two days, that there is two Lemon skunk phenos, one with incredible density to the Buds, we will call this the Holland pheno.(LS2)....the other pheno is the one that leans more towards the LVLS....(LS1)

The best and earliest way to tell the difference early on in flower is to look at the buds closely the shape of the nugs will tell you which pheno you have....the ones that start off looking like tight golf ball nugs WITH smallish white pistills that also look very neon green early on would indicate that you have the holland pheno,.........

If the buds have extremly long hairs but very little bud building and also look to be going into a more pointed looser shape you have the more LVLS pheno, and she will not have as much density to the buds, and needs better care in terms of heat management, shes the more delicate pheno....

i was aksed the other day WHY if the LVLS is sooo good, did DNA not just self the clone and send that out instead....Well i think weve answered that here, the LVLS was popular in 2007, when Holland was at the for-front of weed culture.

i belive the smell potency and taste of the LVLS was perfect, HOWEVER i belive Due to the fact it produces light airy buds naturally it was crossed to Nevils male (as allot of current strains were) to produce a tighter denser NUG...as is and was prefered in Holland back in 07...it also had compitition from the Haze's, widows, powerplants etc...... so a tighter NUG was needed.....i think LS1 is a good rep of the LVLS mother and i think the LS2 that we had was a rep of the holland pheno with the denser NUGS.....

I can assure all the Lemon heads that there is No difference in smell between the two phenos, i dont think the holland pheno is any less Lemon smelling and tasting then LVLS leaning pheno however there is in bud density.....LS1.1 will be run in a better enviroment again to confirm this however the video above i think proves that even when run in the same enviroment the bud density is still there deciding factor into which pheno you have, along with very thin leafs for LVLS and slightly fatter leafs for the holland pheno...

Hopefully LS3 will provide me with the Holland pheno as im used to having, then we can run Both phenos side by side in the best enviroment and we will pick which is the better and which one i will use for crossing back to a SLH (haze leaning pheno as they produce much better) and to HSO purple trainwreck.....

I made the cardinal mistake of drying outdoor plants in my tent when the light was off to cover the smell, and a bunch of caterpillars wound up in my tent. They really seemed to like the purple dream, as they ate 80% of the hairs off the biggest PD and 3 of the smaller PDs. The cherry pies are doing very well, they all got fed tea today, and are gonna be on straight water for the rest the cycle. Thinking 2 weeks and crop 1 will be ready to pull. They are really starting to swell up. The resin production and crystal production on the cherry pies isn't the best I have ever seen, but its gonna be top shelf for sure. Hopefully its gonna have a nice taste to it. The smell is very subtle on the pies, it smells faintly of candy cherries and fresh pine.

Crop 2 (lemon larry, purple dream, jack herer, cherry pie) will be much better quality me thinks and better yield. For one, they have had the perfect temps all the way through, and they have been getting tea the whole cycle as well. Also, they have a long veg time as well. The jack herer is by far the best looking plant in the tent, the lemon larry still smells the strongest, but the tent has definitely turned peppery due to the jack herer stinking up the joint now to.

Crop 3 and 4 are the SOG plants. To be honest, I am not liking my SOG. I have to water them daily, and even daily some of the plants still show droopy leaves from lack of water. I checked the pots, and they are actually only 3/4 gallon pots, not full 1 gallons. So i think thats part of the issue. I probably wont flower again with such small pots, thinking its 2 gallons min from now on.

Yea I have been trying much harder to get better pics. This is the point in time where I have lots of bud porn in my tent, and I really wish I had a camera that would capture it better. The JH especially is impossible to get the full crystal profile to show up in cell phone pics
