Weird buds...

I just noticed 2 of the buds on my short bushy plant have gone brown, very sticky, and they sort of smell like tree sap. What is this? Has this happened to anyone else?

I will have to post a pic of the brown buds tomorrow. I lost the light. But this is her upper most bud.

I know right...but she had beautiful buds and all the little leaves are okay. Just these 2 buds that turned brown and now kinda of smell like tree sap.

So on the advice of a friend who has more experience than I do, I took down the first plant. He said it wasn't mould. Thanks goodness. So she is hanging in my furnace room.

I am sorry CashCrops but I am very new and these 2 were my first ever. They were in pots on my deck. I gave them regular tomato food. So...as embarrassed as I am to ask...what are nutes and ppm?

nutes = nutrients..... AKA food

ppm = parts per million

Plant prod, ultimate, 20-20-20. It's powdered, I mixed it in water and fed them once a week.

How long did you flower the plant?

Honestly, I stuck them in pots and put them on my deck. Fed them regular 20-20-20. They have been there since May. I have one left up. Just waiting for the first plant to be ready for the mason jar and then I will take the second one down. My friend's friend came and had a look and said it wasn't mould but to take her down. So I did.

always go light with nutes. Less is more.

Well...I must say...not the best buds I have ever smoked but not bad at all. I think I will go to my local seed bank after the holidays and find some delicious ones for my next crop. Can't wait. in the mean time...leaving for Belize in 9 days!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo! Can't wait!

Did you check the roots when you harvested? I had a plant in pot outside with buds that looked like the pic you posted, found out pot wasn't draining very good, ended up with root slime. It still finished but took a long time and it lost all its fan leaves and sugar leaves started dying, like on your pic.

My friend's friend came and had a look and said it wasn't mould but to take her down. So I did.

If you rip open a bud and see the stem is a bit hairy then it's the start of budrot, sometimes you can't really see the mould on the flowers,
only the effects.

Kills colas in days, they'll be completely brown and ruined if it was budrot.
