What appears to be a well kept secret.....

I can't tell you how many threads I've read since March, and am very familiar with the more popular breeders... but one breeder seems to be under the radar that should get more attention if you ask me.

I've zeroed-in on Kannabia Seeds http://www.kannabia.es/ a Spanish breeder that is putting out amazing strains. They seem to have mastered strains that are high in THC, fast growers, and good yielders. How can anyone go wrong with those strengths.

Kannabia has won numerous awards globally, and I feel they've deserved all of them. I'm currently growing their "Mataro' Blue" and it's an amazing plant to grow.

Here's a couple of interesting links about Mataro:

http://www.dailysmoker.com/cannabis-seeds/mataro-blue-kannabia

http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Mataro_Blue/Kannabia_Seeds/

I've documented my Mataro' Blue grow and it's linked in my signature.

I vegged for 5-6 weeks, and I feel the posted 55 day flower time is realistic. While I haven't smoked any of the MB, but if the claimed 24% THC is true, Mataro' Blue should be on everyone's "wish list".

I'm going to do a 8 plant grow of Karamelo http://www.kannabia.es/en/productseeds/karamelo and am looking forward to a grow with a flower time of 6-7 weeks.

Ok....I don't pen many strain reviews so maybe I'm missing something....219 views and zero comments. Am I stating the obvious to everyone or am I coming across as not knowing shit?

Just wondering.....that's all.

I can't speak for others, but I never heard of them so I can't comment. I definitely consider them for my next purchase.

The Mataro Blue certainly looks nice. There's just so many strains I want to try but I'm limited to 4 plants at a time in a stealth set-up.
I guess I'll add it to the list :)

i never heard of them either, 55 day flower seems in the autoflower range, is that what they sell? plus your post sounds like advertising to me.

Good level of thc, 8-10 weeks flowering, sounds like one of a thousand and one other strains out there. Nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about imo.

I can see how you would think that this is an advertisement.....and I guess it is. Let's see.....they've won or placed in many cannabis cups, is listed in the "Top 10 highest THC" ratings http://original-ssc.com/top-10-high-thc-strongest-cannabis-strains, grows quickly (please refer to my journal), finishes in 55 days, very easy to grow, and is a good yielder.

Yep.....I'm waving the flag for an unknown breeder so other growers will also find out how great these strains are.

Not a secret
No regulars
Autos and Fems only
Not my bag

Thank you for the journal and documenting your Matero
Was the lineage cleared up on this strain? More than one parental description floating around I see

All this talk of 55 days. What is the actual flowering time? So far the internet is claiming anywhere from 7 to 10 weeks. Quite the discrepancy. Also suggesting there are a few pheno's in the mix.

There's been more than one strain with various versions of lineage, and this is no exception. I would choose the lineage that the breeder's page indicates. Regardless of which lineage you feel is most correct, all the one's listed are pretty damn good ones.

As you know flower times vary. I will let you know what my flower times are. I don't measure from first bud, but from the time in 12/12. For me, it's more exact than the foggy "Is that a bud" opinions. What I can tell you is that everything Kannabia has described so far into my grow has been accurate.

7 to 10 weeks......well, 55 days falls into that range (56 days = 8 weeks).

Listen....I'm not getting anything by promoting a strain I feel is worth sharing with others. Google "Mataro Blue" and find me one thread that has something negative about this strain or breeder. I've read them all and there isn't any. There isn't many strains out there that can say that. I've done my homework on this, and have never felt confident enough of any of my previous grows to get on here and tell someone that this-or-that strain is something to look into....until now.

If feminized seeds are not your bag, that all well and good, but there are many growers that prefer not having to grow twice as many plants to end up with 1/2 being tossed out. I have 5 Snozzberries regulars going now and they are taking up valuable space in my veg cabinet...only to get 2-3 females.....hell, they may all be males....it's possible.

I'm not trying to talk anyone into getting this strain....all I'm asking is look over the links and my journal and determine if this is something you would like to grow. Simple as that.

Hi. For what it's worth your thread here peaked my interest in this breeder. I have decided to give karamello a whirl. Honestly, if I did not come across this thread I probably would have never tried them. So, thanks for the heads up and I hope I end up happy when I run the strain.

In 7-9 days i will post up pics of a karamello taken 9-10 weeks, my faraono decided it wanted to break in half at about 48 days so i dried it ontop my fridge, the bottom four branche are still on the hollow stalk ill try to reveg it for a cut because its flavour is something special. Mine looked nothing like kannabias pics tho, the karamello being a massive plant that looks like a indica dom northern lights, the faraono looked more spear bud shaped and quite large buds after the 6th week, huge internode spacing.

Im usually a reg only guy but these were damned good freebies.

Just a quick update.....the photo on the left was taken 9-26-13, the same plant is on the right and taken 10-17-13.

Just over 3 weeks and the plant has almost tripled in size. Since the 17th, it has grown an amazing number of buds (two days ago). There's no reason in my mind that the 55 day flower time is not reasonable.

Karmello is going to be my next order. You mentioned 9-10 weeks....is that total growing time or flower time? Sorry to hear that it broke in half...was that due to handling or something else?

One down-side to the Mataro Blue is that it makes all my other strains seem like they're growing in slow motion. I have a couple of clones from the MB and they are already passing much older plants in the veg cabinet.

I think today is day 58 of 12-12 couldnt say how long i vegged it for but it was 16 inches at the start of 12-12. The fararona was pretty much put straight into 12-12 after it had a few nodes in a 1.5 gallon pot. It was really top heavy and didnt have any support, one of my double dutch plants did the same the next day so im obviously the issue.

My flower room is over-filled with plants at the moment and I'm having to move them around more than I like to feed them. This is when my plants get damaged as no matter how hard I try to not knock branches around, it happens. I spent an hour yesterday staking all of them so they didn't have branches getting tangled in other plants.
