(A) You're kidding me, right? Who the fuck told you that the legislature would even think about adding something this year about concentrates? I really want to know who's filling your head with all this bullshit...and why, unless you business depends totally on concentrates, you would even believe this line of bullshit. So here's the totally non-bullshit answer. For this to happen, there would have to be a bill this year to authorize concentrates, specifically, because no one will include that in another bill because it would make that bill fail, and it would have to pass by a 66%, 2/3 rds, Super Majority in BOTH the Republican Senate and the Democratic House. It would require these two groups, who can never agree on a state budget, with a simple 51-49 vote, to decide that these two parties will overwhelmingly support this new "Dab Bill" to allow concentrates in state Liquor Control Board stores. Sorry, but at some point people have to start thinking logically when you hear ABSOLUTELY stupid shit. Don't believe me? Call your own legislator and ask them about supporting a "concentrates" bill this year....and then let us know how that works out for you.


(B) The LCB ALREADY tried this last year...and we killed it....but we had serious help. The cop lobby...WASPC...wasn't crazy about it either because it gave the new "Elliot Ness Squad" multi-juristictional powers to go into every city and county and reek havoc. The county Sheriff's, who have autonomy really HATE that idea. They already have the WSP encroaching on their territory and the sure as fuck don't want the "Elliot Ness Squad" doing the same thing. They also don't want their own multi-juristictional task force to lose all the property the would normally seize for themselves...not some new goon squad from the LCB. I guess if I were them, I'd want to keep all the plunder for myself as well. So they will try this again this year and their own cop lobby will stop them. They won't stop them because the don't want the state to have their own "Pot DEA", but because THEY want that job and the money that goes with it. THANK GOD!

The medical community has 30 days get their shit together or just say goodbye to medical. From what I'm seeing, I shouldn't bother trying to get anyone off their lazy fucking asses in order to save themselves. They just aren't interested. Not the point. The point is that those of us who are REALLY doing this are going to run into these situations. I don't think I'm all that unusual and I have certainly had these very same problems over the last ten years. And while it's truly, dangerously, disconcerting ....to say the least.... we better discuss how to recognize and deal with these situations.


If your just growing cannabis and selling it....you can ignore this whole thread. If you're taking care of people who are dying of cancer, or another disease, and are being given as many oxy's as they want by their doctor who doesn't know what else to do...you need to be ready for situations like this to happen.


It was NOT this guy's FAULT. I doubt he even knew who he was at that point. One of our members here was sitting talking to him at the meeting when this first started and maybe he'll chime in...or not.
But this guy was just so screwed up on painkillers, he shouldn't be talking about growing plants....OR DRIVING!


This guy needs serious help from us! He's in Shoreline. If you want to help him, call me. He needs someone. I'm pretty sure his wife has no idea how to deal with this situation. Would you? If you've dealt with this in your life....please share what WORKED and what DOESN'T tend to work. Educate the rest of us who have, fortunately, not had to deal with this on a regular basis.


If my crew is reading this thread, I'm so proud of you that I can't even express it! You took a potentially volatile situation and, frankly, handled it much better than I would have...and I was at least smart enough to stand back and let you handle it. That taught me that I have a lot to learn too. I did learn that I have some GREAT people here that are far better at this than I would have ever imagined...you taught an old dog some new tricks today.


If you're the patient we're talking about here, please just keep your mouth shut. There's no need for you to get involved in this conversation and "stick up" for yourself. We're working to get some people to try to help you get through this....you're NOT under attack...and I really hope you realize that and that you're willing to accept some help from the community. And you have my cell number and you can call me...if you promise not to scream at me. :-)

Steve has been outing growers that he doesn't care for, trying to cause as much problems for them and thier families as he can. Some how he has skated every time the law comes a knocking. How many life's have you ruined to save your ass??? Why would you want to see MMJ go away, why would you want to make it harder for patients to get their meds? Would you rather the meds be taxed and prices raised than for patients to be able to gain access to top quality buds from a reputable MMJ grower? You think it's better to pay the Govt 25% tax than have an untaxed safe access point for affordable meds? Thats fucked up man, do you hate America?

You mean, would I'd rather have access to quality, tested and backed by the state pot? Or that shit they sell at unlicensed, unregulated dispensaries? Or maybe you think I would prefer drug dealers acting under the guides of mmj, selling weed in school parking lots, shooting at one another? You either lead follow or get the hell out of the way of progress. Here lately mmj has caused more harm then good. Have you seen craigslist lately.... Mmj trade for man toys... Ie guns. Or personal my favorite, mmj trade for anything of value, just don't tell me where you got it from. Things are out if control, and the mmj community could have stopped it long ago. Except then thier profit margins wouldn't be anything to brag about. The Mmj community sold its self out long ago.

dude you did not even read the links I supplied from the doh and dept of revenue did you ? This isn't just about dispensaries. They are considering taking away home grows. That means somebody will be on your doorstep looking for your outdoor grows.

They are not just considering it, they are actively working to eliminate home grows. That's why I've been ahead of the game. No growing, not having a mmj card, and attending as many LCB functions as possible. No one who is growing medically is going to get approved, they have flat out said so. I would suggest anyone who wants a producers license to do the same. Attend the i502 applicant workshop, find some land, pay the $250 and get a license from the liquor control board.

The LCB has already stated they will allow meds with 12% thc and under to be sold to the public ....med patients require higher dosage and thc content in their meds...how can anyone tell if you are growing medically now if you apply for the state license to grow and produce there is no cross referencing state growers with medical growers ...there is no list...Yet http://www.liq.wa.gov/publications/Marijuana/rfp/BioTrackTHC_Bid.PDF

Now, Washington is pushing forward with plans to entice the latter into its new world of legal, taxed recreational pot, and advocates like Darington say they're worried about where that's going to leave those who actually need cannabis.

A state work group on Monday is due to release its recommendations for how to regulate Washington's freewheeling medical marijuana industry — recommendations that could include reductions in how much pot patients can have, an end to the collective gardens that have supplied the sick and the not-so-sick for the past 15 years, stricter requirements for obtaining medical marijuana authorizations and taxes on medical pot.

"I'm terrified a bunch of that, if not all of it, is going to be lost — that the recreational users have thrown us under the bus," said Darington, of Choice Wellness Center. "When they put a tax on the sale of Viagra is the day I am willing to sit at the table and discuss putting a tax on this medicine."

Voters in Washington and Colorado last fall legalized marijuana for recreational use, and the states are preparing to allow its sale at licensed stores. In Colorado, medical marijuana is already regulated and subject to sales tax, with 109,000 registered patients, and it isn't clear to what extent it might undermine the recreational market.

But in Washington, lawmakers and state officials are concerned that licensed pot stores won't be able to compete with medical dispensaries selling unregulated, untaxed marijuana — thus cutting into the amount of tax revenue Washington makes from the sale of recreational pot.

Furthermore, the U.S. Justice Department has made clear that it while it will allow states to develop tight regulations for marijuana — regulations that address key federal law enforcement priorities, such as keeping legal pot away from kids and off the black market — it won't tolerate unregulated pot growing or sales. After the DOJ announced in August that it wouldn't sue Washington or Colorado to block their licensing plans, the Seattle and Spokane U.S. attorneys called Washington's medical marijuana system untenable, a clear warning that things needed to change.

Washington approved the medical use of marijuana in 1998, two years after California became the first state to do so. Twenty states and the District of Columbia now allow pot as medicine, and Washington's system is among the most lax, with no registration requirements for patients or oversight of the pot gardens and dispensaries that serve them.

State lawmakers this year directed the Liquor Control Board, Department of Health and Department of Revenue to form a work group and come up with recommendations for how medical and recreational marijuana might coexist. Documents prepared by the group and released to advocates under public records requests show that the officials have been considering ideas that include getting rid of medical marijuana entirely, thus forcing patients to buy taxed pot at licensed stores; requiring a higher burden of proof that a patient suffers from a qualifying ailment, as well as greater follow-up care by the medical professional who authorizes the pot use; and requiring that minors have parental permission before being authorized to use medical marijuana.

Alison Holcomb, the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington lawyer who drafted the recreational marijuana law, said she expects the work group to recommend that any business wishing to conduct commercial marijuana transactions be required to obtain a license under Initiative 502, the recreational pot law.

That might effectively close most Washington medical marijuana dispensaries, which have proliferated even though they're not technically allowed under state law. The state Liquor Control Board, which is overseeing the implementation of I-502, has said it will issue 334 licenses for retail pot stores around the state, with 21 of them in Seattle — a city that has an estimated 200 medical marijuana dispensaries.

Holcomb also said she expects the work group to suggest that patients continue to be allowed to grow their own marijuana or designate someone else to do it for them. One big question, she said, is whether the recommendations will call for the end of collective gardens, where dispensaries serving hundreds or thousands of patients have grown a lot of pot, some of which has ended up on the black market.

Another question is whether the state might create a system that exempts patients from paying taxes, or at least requires them to pay lower taxes, at recreational marijuana stores. Such a system might require a patient registry — an idea that some medical marijuana advocates have warmed up to, after opposing it for years on the grounds that it would violate patient privacy and force them to admit to violations of federal law.

Ultimately, how to handle medical marijuana will fall to the Legislature, where two bills are already pending that would tax and regulate medical marijuana to varying degrees.

Ezra Eickmeyer, a lobbyist with the Washington Cannabis Association, said his group is supporting at least some of the legislative efforts and looking forward to seeing the work group's recommendations.

"Nobody who is reasonable or credible will deny there is fraud taking place in the medical marijuana system as it exists now," he said.
