Growing with cfls up on your buds can be tricky, you gotta raise em pretty often.. im not gonna lie, I've burned a few leaves.....I run a real tight single cola sog so to keep them short I supercrop pretty vigorously and bend the stems back and forth to thicken and slow em down. Where you suoercrop everything below that point grows until its healed for the most part.. by suoercrop I just mean pinching or crushing the stem and folding it back and forth , I've heard other ways... I do this up until the buds meet up in flower

you have to put t5 or floral right on top of the plant im talking half an inch, raise them 2 times a day. or they will stretch. to get to the light. led grows I see. stretch the plant no matter what. my opinion. throw led lights into the trash. or use them for xmas. best way to get rid of stretch is to add more light. sory led users I see pics all the time on here. they fit into this post.

Post pix!
what part of growth stretch are you talking about?
seedlings and babies?
Re bury stems with soil up to the first set of true leaves
in Rock wool or hydro, pinch stems I start low and work up daily, by crushing a weak stem it will strengthen itself.

the Stretching in Flower is completely different, it's just a growth spurt.

with all stretching having your light as close as possible for the type of lighting.

Something like 2 weeks into flower.......stretching is normal here but some strains just can't be tamed whether in veg or flower no matter how much light you give....some don't even react to suoercropping (I have no idea why my phone keeps replacing the p) I was given an og kush by a buddy and its going crazy, I suoercrop daily and it will stay vine like and is the fastest growing plant I've ever grown..easily triple the size of some vigorous landrace sativas planted at the same time...(I mean internode length)

LSTing and Super cropping is the best way i have found to control stretch. Aside from moving the light a little closer. Useful trick if u have tight vertical spaces.

You have to LST the FUCK out of OG Kush. Ive been trying different methods of single-stalking her, and Ive decided that its beyond my capability. My first few attempts are thoroughly retarded looking (Im finishing them anyway). If you top her about a week before flipping the switch it works out pretty well. As far as beating the stretch in general; more blue spectrum, and keep those CFL's CLOSE. Im having slightly less stretch in the first 2 weeks of bloom since switching from HPS to CMH.

I used to use training methods to try and minimize stretch going into flower, but it seems it is as easy as light spectrum ;)
You can either A - gradually lower the lighting hours from 18/6 by an hour every day until you get to 12/12 (mildly effective)

or

B - Instead of jumping from 6500K MH to 3000K or 2000K HPS... add in a 4000K from 12/12 flip until end of stretch (very very effective)

I had a bit of play with different bulbs a few years ago and was turned off by a 10 000K bulb that made my plants finish way too quick!
One of my peers got me onto Solistek's new range of bulbs which I found work fantastic (not a plug ^^)
He showed me the difference from going from 6500K MH bulb in veg to 4000K bulb from flip to end of stretch... and then onto 2000K HPS for the rest of flower.

I was quite amazed at the difference it made, especially with his sativas which now form single, long donkey dick cola's instead of popcorny smaller buds at the bottoms until the main colas start to beef up after stretch and close the internode gap.

Also a reduced stretch of up to 50% which can be useful with the usual 8 foot finished sativas.

I wouldnt really ever recommend people spending money on unnecessary extra bulbs.. but I see it work over and over again.

Cheers Jimmy.

Trim the plants roots, same thing they do in Bosnia.
