topping question

Yo I was wondering if it would be okay to top at the end of the 2nd week of veg and then wait a week then flip in to flower. I only want to veg for 3 weeks and I'm trying to keep my plants small but bushy if you guys have any recommendations feel free to post them because right now I don't know what I should do I got about 1.5-2 feet of plant height.

I would give more than a week after topping to let the new tops develop. two weeks at min.

Do you think I should just not top it and let it grow normally. Also can you super crop normal growing plants that have just a main cola just in case they start stretching to much

I only top a seedling for the purpose of cloning.

Im just trying to keep my plants a small but as bushy as possible. So I guess I'm saying fuck topping. What would be better listing out just letting them grow naturally and if branches get to big super crop them. I only can veg for 3 weeks if I go any longer the plants will be to big when I flip to flower.

You can supercrop any plant to slow growth no matter if it's topped or not it will just be all bent and such. if you top expect to let it veg for a couple of weeks at least. I prefer to fim instead of topping because there is little recovery time involved and all the tops are even and easily controllable with a little supercropping. Topping to me is a last resort. If you wan't to keep your plants small and bushy than look into mainlining.*correction mainlining would be short and bushy not small and bushy* Good luck.

I don't veg at all and seedlings, depending on the strain will grow 3-4.5 feet in 12 weeks, 1kw hps. That's even if you snip the shoot for a clone.

Yeah looks very interesting and you get a lot of tops but I guess I'm just going to have to test different techniques and see which one suits my grow the best

Personally my seedlings are way too small at two weeks to top. Maybe you got some studs though. I like to leave behind at least 2 nodes worth of 5-leaflet fan leaves to power the thing.

Edit: Thats 2 weeks from seed, not a rooted clone, which would probably be large enough at two weeks.

I realize that two nodes are enough but I usualy go with three or more if posible. The lowest node will surely dissappoint you. A snip from a seedling is one of the most difficult chore a grower has to do. Once perfected it can be done in ones sleep. After I cut my cubes for cloning I stick a 3.25" framing spike(nail) to make the hole in the rockwool for the clone. I leave this spike in the cubes while soaking and I find it handy because if you're paying attention the instructions say this side up. When placing the snip in the cube make the hole in the rockwool larger with the nail so the stem of the clone can easily be placed into the hole. after the clone is in give the rockwool a slight sqeeze and it's off to the bin etc. I feel sorry for some of the people on this site. They still haven't figured what the nail is for or how to use it or even why you need to make a hole in the rockwool cube for the clone in the first place. I use a #2 powder root stimulator as directed on the product. I do not top my clones when I put them in bud because I got a mom(s) for them already, I only do the seedlings.
