When I started the magnet experiment I was unclear as to whether the magnets should be in attraction or repulsion, so I ran one rez each way. Eventually, I moved the females to my HOT5 tent where the magnets were in attract, but I put a ~ 1" neoprene plug in between, in hopes of creating an energy field in between.

Today, I came across a follow up youtube, and saw the ticket is repulsion, BUT, using metal shims between that make the opposing magnets attract to the metal shim in spite of wanting to repel.

I have some washers (too thin but...) and have reset the magnets. However, I am now quite far into flowering so no way to know what might have been

Anyway, plants are budding quite well and hopefully will bud even better now

Absolutely, but I think (as I originally thought) repulse would be better. I should have swapped the magnets around once I moved the other plants upstairs roughly a month ago. WSC (woulda shoulda coulda).

Anyway, between the 2 ufos + my led tubes + smaller plant clones, I think I'll hold off on testing/experimentation

Plus hoping to be spending a fair aount of time with the professional office led panel retrofit biz.

Interesting...i guess you need a control to actually conduct a proper experiment huh? Maybe next grow?

As you can see, the foliage is pretty dense in the 2 x 4 grow area. Consequently, the girls are thirsty. A lot more water is being consumed. I start with ~ 850ppms each morning. The next morning the rez is back up ~ 1350 ppms.

For anyone who thinks hot5 bulbs don't burn, think again (see photo). I bend the canopy 3-4xs a day, as the branches keep bending towards the light. I could raise the fixture, BUT, I want to make sure the other 2 plants get good light as well.

Lower bud development is quite good, even on the plants that aren't really benefiting from the ufo side lighting

Should be ready to harvest in 4 weeks, which will be a waning moon cycle.

Why dont you just tie them for piece of mind? Space them out a bit so that your fans arent covering the sites so much

Good question/advice. If I didn't work from home that would be a good recommendation. Actually, it' s good either way, but I like being hands on

Dumped old nutes, cleaned pump filters. Should be good to go for the final 3-4 week push

The 2 pics of top colas are from plants on each side of Melanie

Note 2 pics where a portion of the ufo is visible. The leafs within range are much fuller, but buds do not seem to have benefited any more than other buds. Thinking to replace it with my 3.5 yo R/B ufo

I was responding over on my IC thread, and realized that the 2 smaller WHx only started showing sex 10/13 and Melanie 10-16

Damn, this seems like awesome bud development in such a short time. No?

I flipped mine on 10/4 and they are bigger already. running 600w super hps ( hps with small mh filliment) with a 240w G8LED panel.

Update a bit early, but thought it a good marker as I revised the magnets (see pic) which are positioned just after the riser tube on the pump.

After reviewing the youtube I noted that the magnets should be in repel BUT using a metal shim between makes them both attract to the shim, but repel each other

No idea how much this will help at this late stage, but time will tell

Pic of cola leaning to left is plant on left, the opposite of cola leaning to right, with Melanie in the middle

Thanks. Alas, can't say it helped me understand the principals any better
I think if you where to run a current through the water, where the magnets are placed on the tubes this could have different effects, I dont really know what but doing this would give you much more control over whats going on.

You have to understand how Current, Flux and Force are all connected.

By 'current' I assume you mean electrical charge? If so, it does not seem necessary. Youtube 'structured water" Pretty cool stuff

You are going to be developing a current through the water regardless, you are cutting the magnetic lines with the water flow, the induced EMF because of the J and B forces will create a pressure difference withing the fluid, the induced EMF is strong enough to balance out the forces created from the change in the magnetic field, if you want to take this to the next level, you would apply a current to the water, depending on the current flow you would ether be producing vortexes or counteracting them. The size of the vortexes you could create would relate to the magnetic flux you are able to produce and can be measured as harman layers with in the liquid. If you would reverse the current that creates these vortexes you would have a much smoother flow of the water, also the salt content would have a big impact on all of this and finally, most peoples heads would exploded when you have to start calculating temperature differences from one bit of fluid to the next, passing through the magnetic lines.

This is the primary study of outer-space and galaxy's as most of the known universe is mad up of conductive gases, the best way to some it up is to watch this:

You do realize, Magnetohydrodynamics is happening in side all of us right now...

Well, something's going right.

Last grow it took forever for calyxes to develop, and they are already here

Also, buds seem ~ 30% fatter than 2 days ago

Pics tomorrow
