The Fish Thread

Years ago we lived in Key West.
I'd drive us up US-1 to a spot about 1/4 mile before a particular bridge, my wife would let me out & drive on up to the bridge & fish with our kids while I went "shopping" for dinner with a tickle stick & spear gun. I'd snorkel through the mangrove grabbing bugs & spearing a fish or 3.
I didn't always observe seasons (my bad, I know), but would harvest enough for us to have a beautiful lobster & fresh fish dinner (snook, grouper or snapper).

My eldest son to this day doesn't like Spiny Lobster due to eating so much of it.
If you can make it to the BBQ next month, 'Getawaymountain' is flying in lobster & crab from his boat in Maine.........

Thanks bro, we were actually fishing outside the gate. That was on the way back in. I love smoked salmon....
i don't do well on boats in the ocean...
we went out on a charter, about 6 of us or so, and i was puking pretty much the entire time.. i had to go in and sit down i felt so ill.. :(
i kept saying to myself i'd come out and fish when we got on some fish, which never really happened.. eventually someone said you should come back out and at least try and fish some.. so i did, and the captain hooked me up with a fresh bait, live eel, and that's when i caught the 42 incher, winning the pool in the process.. :)

wish i didn't get so sea sick though as i'd love to run out to the canyons and do some tuna fishing, but i don't think i'd be able to hang on a boat for the required 24 hours..

my gf lives in maine, and has a friend of the family who's a lobsterman.. they often get like 10 or so lobsters gifted to them for their birthdays..

and when they do pay for it, it's retarded cheap, and the lady cooks them up for you and all.. it's pretty sweet for sure..

Some of the motion sickness pills they have now days work pretty good with minimal side effects too.
Would make it more enjoyable for ya.

i think i took about 5 or so of them gwn.. forget what brand atm, plus smoked a j on the ride down.. i was ok while the boat was moving on the way out, but once we started drifting over the spot, it was all over.. :(

plus it was rough were we went, it was where the delaware river joins into the atlantic ocean, called the cape may rips, so that didn't help much either.. i've been out in the bay a few times and didn't get nearly as sea sick as i did that day in the ocean..

I lived in Cape May for 16 weeks - nice place, but they made me get up at unGodly hours to do push-ups & shit.

Well, I can't wait to do some end of March bass fishing here in the Midwest.

Great choice for a bump bro - I've always liked this thread.
& McPurp is a fishing machine!!
Me and Singlemalt we're frothing at the mouth talking about our backgrounds in the game. October is coming (trout season), so hopefully a bunch of really cool shots to come!

EDIT: Going through the last few pages. Great stuff posted here.
