I am a patient in CO, but none of the dispensaries in my area carry clones of good genetics. Anyone know any stores to go to?
I acquired some Tahoe alien bubblegum and face wreck from kind love both bug free and growing well. Both DNA genetics off mom talked to the grower nice guy and great place. No I am not affiliated or a patient.I am a patient in CO, but none of the dispensaries in my area carry clones of good genetics. Anyone know any stores to go to?
Clones are for chumps, and suckers.
me personally i guess im lucky with clones from dispensary, EVERY CLONE I HAVE GOTTEN HAS BEEN LEGIT 100%...just gotta do your research i guessUnless you're ordering the seeds from a reputable seller, and the seeds are arriving in the original breeder's packs, there is no guarantee that the strain you're getting will be anything close to the original (insert your favorite strain here). Much of what passes for (insert your favorite strain here) and that dispensaries market as (insert your favorite strain here) is not (insert your favorite strain here). I don't understand why someone would pay $20 for a clone of unreliable genetic origin--while having no proof that as a clone it was taken from the best mother of the that particular strain. Actually, it stands to reason that dispensaries would--even if they maintained the strains and labelled them all correctly, and none every hermied or crossed, and the dispensary didn't get suckered into thinking "This is strain X" by a grower... Let me start over. It stands to reason that they would not be selling clones from their best mother, the best producing, highest quality phenotype. Why? Because those clones are worth more to the dispensary to grow out themselves, and why would they want to be handing over the best genetics around so you could clone it yourself and never have to purchase from them again? That. Isn't. Happening.
I know that their are a lot of idealists who walk around calling cannabis medicine and growing it and thinking of themselves as healers and other smokers as "patients" but this is still a capitalistic system, and their are real profit motives involved--like people losing their homes and businesses. Even if they act hippy dippy, you can bet your ass that they are business people. You don't give away your best genes in perpetuity (because anyone can clone and keep a mother) for 20 dollars to anyone legal who walks through the door. Your best genes and strongest strains are sitting on your shelf, for sale, for a lot more than 20 dollars for an entire plant. The good mother plant's clones are not for sale, and like I said, would be dubious--you'll never know for sure, ever--to claim they were in fact a certain strain. More likely a cross that comes close to what people think of as (insert your favorite strain here).
In short, if you're going to spend 20 per plant on dubious and unreliable genetic claims... just buy seeds, in breeders packs, and finally have the genetics that everyone around claims to have. You know why some strains are worth more than others... because you can prove they are what you say that they are... and people find novelty in variety and rarity. So, go online like a grown up, visit a seedshop. Find the strains you want to grow, place order, wait seven to ten days, and go from there.
No clone is worth 20 dollars, ever, unless it's like Bay 11 and the person giving it to you is holding the breeders pack for the seeds, and pointing to the mother plant he has in stasis. Otherwise, you're just paying money for lower branches the dispensary or grower didn't want to grow out from who-knows-what strain. I'm not paranoid. This happens all the damn time. Go to a friends house "check out my (pick your strain name)." Totally not that strain at all, because I've been growing it for eleven years, and have seen every phenotype and every smell and look and that is not what's growing right there. It was some bs cross that turned out to be less popular than people had hoped, and less potent to boot, so they began cloning it away for sale. Took that strain of his to get tested, came back 8 percent lower in THC than my previous test. Same strain? Not a chance. Especially since we both know what we're doing and how to grow and harvest. That difference was genetic. Good thing he paid 20 bucks for a little branch with roots.
Clones are for chumps, and suckers. The only person I'd ever swap clones with is someone I know who orders his own damn seeds. End of story. That guy with a goatee and black t-shirt doesn't give a shit if you grow a good plant and make medicine that's as potent as the shit he's got all over his shelves. He wants you to say "why isn't this as good as the shit they let me sample?" Eventually you say, I'm not a good grower, and then go back to buying, consuming their product. In reality, you got took on the clone purchase. Bait and switch tactic.
Wonder why this strain doesn't look like Killing Fields? Because you didn't buy Killing Fields. Because you didn't grow out twenty different seeds of your own to get the awesome red phenotype. You just bought some clone, and if it was Killing Fields to begin with... it wasn't the red phenotype, because those are valuable and no one is selling those clones to strangers who walk in with 20 bucks looking for a branch with roots coming out of it.
Start at the basics. Put seed in soil.
You made a blanket generalization and called people suckers and chumps. So I was being kind in describing you as a douchenozzle. Maybe "fucking asshole" would be more apropos.I'm not trolling, nor am I being a douchenozzle to point out a few things. I also did notice that almost every response to my post--which is meant to inform and/or offer an alternative account of clone purchasing.
Name names. Your stories do not apply to all dispensaries. That fancy packaging is not what you're paying for (and besides, it's not very fancy). You get what you pay for, and when you buy legitimate seeds from a legitimate breeder, they back those seeds up in name and in customer service.
I've seen quite a few people get burned hard by dispensaries and this cloning game.
Likely.I also pointed out the illogic of a dispensary or grower providing clones from their best mother; sure, it's a mother, but it's likely the mother they chose to sell clones from, not the mother they take clones to grow their own meds from.
Nah, I'm not going to pardon you for being a uninformed dick who tells stories. You'll pardon me for saying clones are for suckers--if you and others took offense--but I'll include myself among those former suckers.
You started the name calling dingus. If you do not appreciate being called a dumb asshole, do not call people suckers and chumps.I don't appreciate being personally attacked for stating a valid and well-laid out counterperspective intended to protect people who would otherwise shell out their money expecting legit strains, with absolutely no guarantee on the validity of those strain claims.
My experience is the opposite. You must know asshole/drug dealer growers. My experience working with growers is that they will not share their prized strains--
You mean drug dealers and/or illegal sellers of marijuana?and these are hardworking people, who are being business smart.
More stories? You are not helping your case. They probably grew out fifty seeds to find the best pheno of any given strain.
That's their time, money, research, selection and experience and they aren't giving it away for 20 bucks to anyone who walks in the door. You'll get a clone, and you might even get a clone that hasn't been mislabeled/misleadingly labeled/or unintentionally crossed with another strain. But what you are unlikely to get for 20 bucks is a clone from the mother from which all the meds on the shelf are derived.
Name names and quit being rude.I'm going to take a wild guess here and wager that those lashing out at me have never worked in a medical commercial grow, and don't quite realize the burden and care and usefulness and absolute value of the mothers--those ladies are like queen bees and not just anyone is chopping away at her and running her clones off to sell.
I'm not sure you know what "ad hominem" means.Dear Trousers.
Um, that's a lot of ad hominem you just volleyed at me (and at professional growers). Good for you. That's how we share perspectives. Your behavior in response to my posts represents the worst of this forum, which can be useful and friendly and even humorously disagreeable at times.
More name calling. You don't make any valid arguments against anything that I wrote, so I'm done here. If I want to get insulted by a lunatic, I can just go hang out under the overpass.
Wow. Maybe try jerking off before you post on here. You're way to angry of a little fellow. You've got some kind of internet rage issue. Have a nice life.
