Marriage, Children, and Growing.

These 3 when combined, generally make for a poor combination...particularly when said growers still have children at home. I just spent an entire month making a dozen clones for a friend out of state, free of charge. And not just any clones, ones I had selected from desired phenotypes. They were supposed to have been picked-up today, then I get a phone call from the guy's father saying there was some family emergency and he never left. This was bullshit b/c I already helped this guy grow once when he resided here, with his wife and 2 children. His wife and 2 children always managed to get in the way of his growing, and the end result was his harvest being overrun with spider mites. Plus I've been texting the guy for 2 days, and he used his father to contact me...when really he just didn't want to admit his wife doesn't want him growing. That's why he used his father, cuz' he knew I'd see through the deception.

Grrr, just need to vent cuz' now I have no room for these clones...by day's end they will have to be tossed to make room for Malawi.

Why can't people just be honest?, yeah I get it...men don't want to admit to other men when they are whipped.

Its a solitary thing, a business. Women and kids get in the way of all business, not just growing.

On a side note, I have a 1 year old that lives with her mom (neither will know). A girlfriend with two teens I live with that are around the grow, both almost adults (18) They seem to not give a shit. It's just what I do as a hobby. Plus all the legalize BS in the news helps them understand that im not a mr.white, just a guy with a damn garden. Lol

Women with children get protective of their families. A Federally illegal activity is not the sort of thing that makes them feel especially safe. Men generally don't get this at a visceral level.

Replace "men" with "I" and "women" with "my ex" and you're getting part of my story and my fail.

But I had a face to face conversion w/him a month ago on this very topic. I told him there will be times he will have to place his job before family.

Yet he strung me along and wasted my time and resources for entire month before backing out. Hell if it was May, I wouldn't care...the clones would go straight into the ground.

So glad I stayed single!.

And TY for listening, b/c this is the only place that can relate to this sort of stuff.

Let's put it this way, she actually made him breakfast and then texted him the pic of the eggs...

20 minutes after him and I went out to breakfast alone, and she knew exactly where we were. I should have known then it was a waste of time.

To me it would be no different than coming out, screaming at me to get inside and eat the eggs she slaved over. Just a different extreme of the same spectrum.

Compromises must be made in a marriage, so what did you buddy get out of the deal since he couldn't grow? Does she let him have the extra few bills a month to buy it then?

If not, he just allowed his spouse to treat him like a child and tell him "no." Unless he enjoys that kind of thing I guess. I know my wife and I know better than to say "no" to each other. A compromise is always better....unless someone is trying to fuck the neighbor, then a foot down and shots fired may be in order.

He didn't even bother to tell me he wasn't coming, and allowed me to think he was by texting me an arrival time 2 days ago. And I scheduled accordingly..so fuck him and his marriage.

This I do know, I will never take a wannabe grower under my wings again unless he or she is single.

I'm glad I live alone. It has taken me 42 years to get my life this way and I will never give up living alone again. I'm so glad I got a divorce before it was too late . I feel like I've been paroled from a life sentence.

Its not just woman and children that get in the way of growing some men do as well. When I wanted to do my grow my husband wasn't keen as still isn't, he keeps saying it smells in the house or the neighbours will hear the fans or that we will get raided, or if they found out where he worked he would get fired, I have to tell him to shut the fuck up sometimes and leave me alone. The grow is mine and if we get caught I will take the blame, I will make sure I deal with the smell in the house and that the fans are out of ear shot of the neighbours, my goodness he's hard work sometimes. My children are all grown up so they are not a problem, however if they were small children living in the house with the grow I may feel differently because as cannabineer said a woman has protection instincts over their children, and will at all costs avoid the children being exposed to such activities.

That sounds like you got drug through the mud.

There are relationships that work - I cannot imagine being without my best friend.

My condolences my friend.

Growing plants, or the persecution by law enforcement?

What if reading was illegal, would your children be illiterate?

Just stirring conversation, not starting a fight. :)

On the flipside, we are not all created to be in need of a "best friend".

In fact, some consider it a weakness that a man/woman would need a man/woman to reach their potentials in life.

I've got to disagree here. My ex got in the way of my business and heavily disapproved. Secondly, I have some grow friends here whom have 3 kids that have turned out great. The eldest got a First class degree, the middle one has returned to the UK to study and already speaks 5 languages and the youngest is very smart too and is studying physics. None smoke, drink etc. The difference is that these two work as a team.

In the case of the OP. you can lead a horse to water...... Sounds like you want him to grow more than he does. Save your energy for better, more grateful friends.

I don't mean to say because I do it, that it is the best arrangement for all.
But for US, it is a perfect fit.
