My grow room and I killed my plants... Ideas?

So, I'm a chronic pain patient and I was really hoping to make this work, but live and learn, I guess. I spent $75+$15 shipping on 5 fem seeds from BDS, tried to get the best soil, 400W CMH bulb, nice reflector, scrubber, inline fans, bought a 5K BTU AC unit, built a good enclosure out of PVC piping, plastic drop cloths and mylar bubblewrap insulation and read a bunch and tried to do everything right, but my plants have really stunted.

Before, I had free bag seeds in a aeroponic grow and their roots were almost a foot long by now.I think what really messed me up was an incorrect electronic PH meter. I thought my well water was about a 6, but I got a cheap ph test drops and the water was much more basic than the PH meter showed probably 7.5-8! From another post I went and got distilled water, PHed it, but I think it's too late as the plants for a month were getting the basic water, the cotyledons are about to fall off and the first 2 leaves are yellowing. So for a month they were getting non-PHed water... I've barely seen any new growth. I just watered before the photos.

I have the equipment for a hydro grow rockwool and hydrotron, the only reason I chose soil was because it was "easier." So restart, right? Thanks in advance!

I feel your pain man, had/have the EXACT same problem with 10 feminized PPP from nirvana. Contacted them and they told me IT HAD to be the ph. after a month all of mine looked exactly like that first picture of yours. problem was i grew 3 bag seeds EXACTLY the same, except the bag seeds were a few days older and after a month i had 3 bag seeds over a foot tall and then my PPP's sitting there fuckin around. I personally think some of these seed banks are just out here ramming their big green dildos up our asses. =)

Get more light and the seedling will stand up. And get some air blowing on it. Preferably an oscillating fan so the stem strengthens. And not nutes - ZERO. Soil looks a bit heavy too. So let things dry out a bit and we'll see how things go from there.

And always grow seedlings in small cups. Much easier to judge water needed. Then - pot up as the plant grows.

Well I'm just about to drop another $90 for only 5 feminized seeds. But in my first post one seed gave me twins and another gave me triplets. I'm second guessing the feminized, but I really dont want to have to remove a bunch of male plants.

Chronic - You sound like a really 'down' dude. I think you need to just get a bit more positive about growing. Not looking to offend you. Just giving it to you straight up as a fellow RIU member.

you are spending quite a lot on seeds.. you can get some feminized seeds for 5 to 10 bucks.. you are spending closer to 15 bucks a seed right now.

go check out breeders boutique... i got 31 regular seeds for 50 bucks including shipping and handling.... less than 2 bucks per seed... less than 5 bucks per female plant.

1:3 Perlite:CoCo... pH 5.8... Nutrients: General Hydroponics FloraDuo Grow and Bloom and also Cal/Mag..

You might look into a mixture like this when you get a chance... you can get the nutrients and the CoCo for a little less than $100..

Go easy on the nutrients and watering.

Soil can be wet but not saturated. I know that's a bit picky but it's important to someone that's never grown something before. And today's potting mixes pretty much can be watered endlessly without getting wet enough to hurt a plant.

Chronic I have been studying seed banks for a few weeks now because I'm paranoid about going to jail soooooooooo I went with herbies they have really great prices on there stuff and pretty secure shipping also! If I was you in all honesty with the pain and stuff if you need cannabis sooner then later I would get a few auto seeds while you was there!!!!

If you think hydro is easier you are in for a world of hurt. Unless you have someone to guide you or have a good amount of time to read up on things it can go bad really fast.

My most recent order is with Herbies, I got like 15 fem seeds for 50 bucks, plus all the freebies, this is the second problem with nirvana I've had so no more of those guys. It's pretty hard to fuck up with seedlings, I blame it on the strain >:)

Fill your pots with soil to 1" below the leaves, put some CFLs 2" away. Slowly add couple tablespoons water right along stem, then set your pot in a pan with 2" of water and let it suck up from below for about 2 minutes, then remove.

OVERWATERED. Quite simply a seedling doesn't have an established root zone yet. You should not even have to water your pot if you thoroughly wet the mix down before planting for the first week or two. You drowned your seedling. And if you do need water, add a little at a time until the plant is established.

A little less water and the root system will have to grow. If it constantly has access to water it doesn't have to grow to search for it, and maybe the lights a little closer too cause they look a little stretched. Good luck man.

Your grow room looks swell! It will make a great home and place to grow up in for your crop. I agree (from my limited knowledge, but having recently done the same thing) too much water! AimAim has the right of it.
Look at the larger seed banks, find some good beginners seeds and find a good sale! I bought 5 seeds from Attitude and ended up with 16 seeds!! Maximize your purchasing power, and keep on keeping on!!
