This cd is as close to an underground hip hop album you can find. maybe 4-5 poppy songs. hell he even calls out/shouts out mac lethal in one of his songs. music is evolving too. its always gonna do that. people cross genres. make beats after being in the car with their grandma all day listening to classical or some shit. you know what i mean. eminem in the past has dropped junk. but this one is not junk. honest!

I'm the furthest thing from a fanboy too. i make my living in the industry. working with a lot of underground and signed artists. this CD has me hooked. i haven't had a cd in a long time that i cant find the time to listen to it as much as i want too. you know what i mean?

for real id put this one up against anyone on the underground. idk if its rick rubin or if em was just on his game or what but really is an amazing piece of work.

Same here. I haven't been able to listen to anything from him since his 2nd album.

Guy went from being a creative, unique rapper to wanting to sound like everyone else. I don't get it.

lemme guess you were big fan of the marshal mathers LP. well this is a perfect sequel. hence the name Marshal mathers LP 2

i gotta imagine rick rubin had a lot of influence on this one. for anyone who doesn't know who he is see ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Rubin_production_discography

hes also the big bearded guy in berserk. the man is a legend. he could make me a number 1 artist. hell he could probably make my cat a number one artist lol.

so combining him with an eminem thats feeling a bit nostalgic and you get an amazing album.

theres a shitload of old samples too. musical samples and lyrical samples. i think thats what makes it feel underground. a lot of underground peeps use samples without permission or whatever cause they don't have access to people like rick rubin would

the pool of shit that rick rubin could legally pull samples from is huge. probably one of the biggest in the game. really makes the album. its not all a bunch of weird eminem voice samples.
