They have what looks like segmented bodies. He's running a flood n drain scrogged so can't lift pots. Have to look in thru a hole. There seems to be several in the root balls, but the roots are so big there's no telling how many there actually is.
Ill try and get a better picture later.

put in a few fish like tetra's and they will eat the things.. or add hydrogen peroxide and it might kill them , then your dealing with dead larva bodies decaying in the res.. if its not broke don't fix it..

The site I got pic from, they concluded it's red wigglers from infected jiffy puck used to start plants. LOL

It doesnt look like a red wiggler to me. You might have gone finshing sometime and got hold of a very hyper little red worm, that's what those are.

Definitely not a red wiggler! What medium is being used? If your using jiffy pellets then it may be some bug that was present in it and is now thriving in your system.. one of the benefits of using a sterile medium for hydro is avoiding situations like this. I'll be fucked if I know what its called but I'm sure they'll be multiplying and eating something.. your roots most likely? And when they die they'll just rot in your roots and water.. lovely.. I'd be panicking mate!

I guess the best thing I can tell him then would be to chop or ride it out. They're 6 1/2 wks in on an 8 wk strain.

Damn, now I feel bad, I'm the one who told him the stuff to get to start up.
I've done the same thing for yrs with no problems.

here is the thing; WTF are they eating? its gotta be the plant or some byproduct thereof...
my usual first response to shit I don't understand or can't identify or anything that is ugly, is to kill it first...
Ass, gas or grass; nobody rides for free

LMMFAO... If they were mine and that close I would already have started experimenting just to find out what worked and didn't hurt the plants ..
But it's his 1st run, and he wants to try and finish them.
