Haven't read any of this thread yet but I bet it's full of a bunch of insensitive douchebag comments where people think they're tough guys for killing and/or eating animals. The only reason people eat animals unless it's to survive is for taste and because they were fed, taught, and accustomed to eating it since childhood. You don't need to eat animals for protein, calcium, B12, or ANYTHING. The vast majority of Americans eat meat, dairy, and grains (and most likely gmo) for most meals and wonder why America is so fucking obese, depressed, diseased, and unaware. Think of your body as an expensive car, you wouldn't put the wrong gas or oil or whatever in your car otherwise it wouldn't run as efficient as it could. Well, it's the same way with your body. Put a bunch of gmo's, pesticides/chemicals, fast food, meat, processed food in your body and your body simply cannot run as efficiently as it should, and this is then seen in the form of chronic disease or psychological disorders like depression or learning problems.
