Do you have the book? Did you read about his seedling and clone teas?Week 0 through 15.67...
I have read enough of his writings to know that his method isn't for me. Also, I have a hard time taking anyone seriously who calls themself "The Rev".Do you have the book? Did you read about his seedling and clone teas?
Best reefer I have seen on RIU uses his soil mix and teas. And I mean best hands down. Nothing fiddly about it at all. Don't knock it before you try it mate.I have read enough of his writings to know that his method isn't for me. Also, I have a hard time taking anyone seriously who calls themself "The Rev".
I'm sure the guy grows some good herb, but all his "spikes and layers" just seem too fiddly to me.
Im guessing u grow organic. What do u follow or do diff from tlo?I have read enough of his writings to know that his method isn't for me. Also, I have a hard time taking anyone seriously who calls themself "The Rev".

I wish we had some of that around... All commercial soils here are sterilized to death. Plants don't like it much. I once got a bag that had crisp packet pieces and tabs from beer cans and even some orange nylon rope in it. Put me off organics till I found out I could make my own soil, aside from my outdoor beds I did 'grandpa style'. I am considering going commercial with my mixes as soon as I have them tweaked to the maxLet's all just grow organic and do it our own ways. I would love to smoke all of our organic buds together and chill. I am even trying out some local organic bagged soil.
I do grow organically. I use a made-from-scratch peat/compost based soil. It contains many of the same ammendments that the "Rev" uses, but there are several key differences:Im guessing u grow organic. What do u follow or do diff from tlo?

Yes he recycles. After its life u can use as mellow mix for clones and u can add amendments and cook for 30. Spikes an layers are some of same amendments as used globaly. They just allow the plant to find what it needs more easily and faster. I havnt had any issues 4 weeks into bloom. Teas twice per plant so far an one more." U watch an give what it needs" gonna have to do that when all ur amends r global. Try layers an spikes an ur plant will fix itself before a prob. The only fiddly thing is getting and knowing how to use an put together. I put a pot together in 2 minutes. Then rain water an a couple teas for 8 + weeks. Wheres the fiddle?I do grow organically. I use a made-from-scratch peat/compost based soil. It contains many of the same ammendments that the "Rev" uses, but there are several key differences:
* My mix does not contain any pre-mixed soils or dry fertilizers.
* No "spikes" or "layers" in my soil. Just balanced nutrition well mixed and composted together.
* My soil is made to be recycled. Does the "Rev" ever reuse soil? (Honest question, not smartass remark)
Look a couple pages into the link in my signature if you want to see my soil mix. Like I said, many of the same ingredients, but no fiddly spikes and layers or specific teas for specific times. I just try to read each plant and give it what it's asking me for.
Don't get me wrong. I think people like the "Rev", Subcool, Soma, Moonshine, etc, are doing great things. We need these "public figures" to promote organic growing, and publishing their mixes makes it pretty simple for a first timers to harvest a high-quality organic crop. I just personally see these mixes as more of a starting point for organic learning and experentation, not necessarily the end all be all of organic perfection.
That's all, really. Don't mean to crap on anyone's methods, I'm just saying don't be afraid to experiment instead of following someone else's recipe.
That's what I love about most Organic heads I am meeting. Experimentation is encouraged! We've got a nice little circle we have dubbed 'The Circle Of Green' and it really is working out that way. Everybody learning from other guys' methods, successes and failures. THIS is what I enjoy most about organic ganja. The people I am getting to hang out with. That's all, really. Well now with May and Hyroot already on that linked thread I might as well go stir the pot with some madness muahahahahahaha... And so, the Circle grows...I have seen Spicy around. He knows his game in a huge way. Much respect.
