And dont say "indicas, dummy."

I suffer from chronic pain in my back and have some hit and miss days where a strain will help but Im looking for consistency!!

INDICAS.

Sorry. OK anyway, I think extracts and edibles made from extracts are some of the best forms of pain management available. I'd grow out a resinous, shorter flowering period, and hate to say it but...indica, or atleast an indica leaning hybrid. Strains that I have personally grown that fit these characteristics are Afgoo and Northern Lights. Making the extracts will help with consistancy, as your product will always be strong but will vary in yield depending on the strain you grow. I think well made BHO or even primo ice hash can help a lot of people with chronic pain such as yourself.

Ha. I aprecciate the sarcasm! Of course i always look for the heaviest indica i can find and am growing an indica heavy hybrid as we speak :-)
I have tried the extract hash and edible scene and find that it lacks the charm and satisfaction of a perfectly cured flower.. Maybe i just want to much out of life.
I just know an old friend of mine who recently stopped growing and providing for me had an unnamed purple strain that worked better then any prescription pill ever did. He will not share the genetics.. Greedy bastard.

Well after looking into it i think i will order up some jack frost seeds.. 3.5% cbd and a pretty high average thc% as well. Its worth a shot. In the mean time i was suprised to find that jack herrer hovers around the 3% mark as well and i see it around town all the time. Thanks for the input. I had always heard that cbd makes for bunk weed, i guess its all in what you want. I love the scientific energy being devoted to the almighty herb now. That charolettes web is very interesting and being in CO im going to look into that some more as well.

Many CBD rich strains are purple tinged. I have disk degenerative disease and have been holding my own and have not been in for cortisone or to beg vicodins in over a year. I truly believe that CBD acts as a neuro protector because it calms my sciatica down in a hurry. It doesn't work like an opiate pain killer though, it's hard to explain how but it works pretty well for me. The THC don't hurt either to relieve the muscle spasms if I tweak it. Tora Bora is great - mostly Indica 14% CBD / 8% THC. Another good one with essentially the same levels but that is a sativa is Sour Tsunami. I've become quite partial to my Snow Goddess CBD pheno which is basically dead even @ ~8%THC / 8%CBD. The CBDCrew also has some good 1:1 CBD:THC strains going bred originally from the Z7 I think. They are in Spain and drop seed pretty regularly I think. If you are in CO and have a red card, 303Seeds have some great CBD genetics going, fem seeds even available.

You should try making lotions, those really help with muscle pain. I cook trim/popcorn buds in coconut oil for about 4 hrs or so over the lowest heat in a double broiler on the stove. I use half oil half oil and emulsifying wax a little at a time until the water and oil dont seperate. I make big batches, like 54 ox oil, and add the wax by the 1/3 cup for reference. I give the lotion to a few friends, my parents, my brother, and my grandpa for muscle and arthritis pain. I would def rec you give that a try. I made some just last week and have quite a bit if you wanna try some.

Honestly good luck. I too suffer bad pain in hips and back. There has been nothing I have found to help with the pain. For me the most engaged hogh stops me from focusing on it. Heady hybrids keep me distracted. Bubba and Grape ape work well as relaxing and distracting.
Have heard good thing about Purple Painkiller from Medman, check him out.
We are currently looking into the high cbd ratio plants. 3.5 % cbd is nothing. A 1:1 @10% is a good starting point. CBD Crew for that.

Peace

Yeah after posting last i got even deeper into the world of CBD potent strains.. I now realize 3.5 is nothing lol. Im a slow learner, what can i say. I am compiling a list of what to look for when i go shopping for meds next, hopefully i will get lucky.
Bubba and ^su- Thanks so much for your input i have added all the advised strains to my wish list. I do apreciate the advice!

Homebrew- i imagine we have different kinds of pain. Mine is basically a bunch if jacked up nerves and if i can get them to chill my back usually eases up to what i remember "normal" felt like.. I am so intrigued to see if the CBD heavy meds with even levels of THC will give me the consistent relief i want. I feel for you man.

Bobsstory- I have had lotion with opiates infused and it worked great so i imagine your loation has a great shot at working! What part of CO are you in?

Thanks for the much needed input and info!

Glad to help. RiverRock in Denver has the Tsunami and another in-house high CBD strain. They don't always have the buds available though because they hash the majority up and make these little dry, pain pill capsules they call Priva pills I think. Anyway, they are effective and were my first real source of CBD... now I'm growin my own :-) I think member price was $1/10mg Priva cap, which isn't bad if you do the math. I'm not promoting RR, just sayin. You can get Tora Bora at Natural Mystic in CO Springs. Just take the CBDs regular for a few weeks and see if you can't tell a difference. When I really know is if I don't smoke my CBD meds for a couple of days....

I live in Lakewood, but I travel a lot around Colorado for work and all the recreation.
I hear you there, Its impossible to stay home living in our state! I live in Thornton but have all my family in wheat ridge and lakewood so i must say i am jealous, I hate living up north. My number is (3)3328305. As i stated in the above post i have a job this week (finally) and can afford some meds, so give me a call/text. I would love to try some of your lotion!

If you're going to River Rock ask them about their patches they're making. I've given out samples to some patients and they're raving about them so far. I think they
were a CBD, 1:1, and THC versions, supposed to last a good 4-6 hours, even when cut in half.

Concentrates my friend..

I know pain brother, and concentrates are the ticket.

A year ago, I myself was on a quest to find that special strain that would bring me relief.

I was introduced to concentrates, and the ratios of active cannabinoids.
Being concentrated into the 90th percentile of total active phyto-cannabinoids and terpenes.

When ingested quickly, via sub-lingual (under your tongue) or vaporization , or combustion via convection or conduction heat sources (taking a dab, or vaporize with pen etc).

These terpenes and phyto-cannabinoids rush through the bloodstream stimulating neurotransmitters throughout the body.

In other words..

I'm a pain patient and often experience severe spikes in pain that no prescription on the planet can even touch.
If I'm able to get a couple dabs in my bloodstream, my pain levels shockingly drop from the high 8/10 to 6 then gradually down to a 4 after 3 dabs..

I've tried everything available for pain legal or not, and hash oil is a miracle for me.
I can relate to love of the flower...

I recently re-discovered my passion for flowers again, I love flower...
Anyhow..
Enjoy your favorite flower to distract your mind from the pain, and get some good CBD strain (s)

Always use the high CBD prior to utilizing a higher THC content or administrating a concentrate.
Smoke a bowl of Tora Bora, then do some oil...

Ahhhh...relief..

Pain patient over 15 years.

ahahaaa, I'm baked...I hope all that makes sense,...loll

I have found gain pain relief, from the strain Chernobyl, let it go like a week or week and half extra, provides a nice buzz that also helps with my back pain.:weed:

They are all stocked up with the CBD strain R4 at Greenwerks if your looking for a great cbd strain. Check them out as well if you haven't.

Not meaning to bring this up from the dead, but seems like a good topic to keep rolling.

I recently had an episode actually after smoking some bad pot (I smoked for about 6 months straight almost everyday last year with no issues) and I had the worst coughing episode. 'I think' it set off a bad vertebre in my spine that was injured when I fell snowboarding a couple years ago, and I had an insane amount of pain in my chest. I ended up in the ER and they simply told me it was the weed, which I knew was BS. Have been going to chiropractor and physical therapy, and not a whole lot of luck. Xray found the bad vertebrae, but I really haven't been able to find relief whilst still getting diagnosed.

I would really like to find the best way to relieve the pain, and I love smoking. I know I need an Indica heavy strain to try. Unfortunately the first stuff I grew from bag seed seems to be more sativa and actually makes the pain worse when i smoke it!
