Buy these starter plugs called "Root Riot". You could probably google them, I am sure every grow store sells them or something similar. You place the seed pointed side down and put the starter sitting upright under a veg light and they pop out of the plug in about 3 days. From there you can let them grow for a few days in a bowl or such just keep replacing the water so it doesn't go bad. Then transfer them to your system. That is what I do for hydro.
The plugs come pre-moistened. As along as you keep fans off them until they sprout you should be fine. If they get dried out soak them with water and gently squeeze the plug to let excess water out. The seed may be germinated but just not sprouted above the plug yet so be gentle. Too much water easily kills seeds. Believe me, wasted about a hundred dollars in seeds my first crop by over watering them.
Oh, I almost forgot. DO NOT buy starter plugs that have large holes in them. Those are for clones. The starter plugs you want for seeds have a tiny hole that the seed fits in nice and snug in.
