Someone extremely close to me is an associate director for PETA. The original post is so full of misinformation, it's outrageous.
I can assure you no one at PETA takes the act of euthanising animals (be them puppies, kittens, birds, or donkeys) even remotely lightly. The people I've met who work for PETA are anything but 'retards'. You are completely free to agree or disagree with their methods, but the suggestion that they're desperate to kill rather than re-home healthy animals is deeply offensive to me, and to anyone who is passionate about animal welfare.
This need not be a pissing contest about who cares more for animal welfare, but rather merely to balance the 'The PETA organisation is bullshit and PETA employees are all retards [sic]' argument with 'The PETA employees I know personally devote more time and energy than I care to consider to the implementation of animal welfare policy around the world'.
