growing clones

I am taking some clones from one of my white widow plants in my veg box.
I have some in my flower tent under 12/12 flower cycle under a 4oow hps.
I am going to clone directly to dirt.
I will put a dome over the cup I'm cloning into.
What I would like to know is if I can put those clones in the flower tent under 12/12 and then after they get good roots replant them in bigger pots and then move them to my veg box until they get some good growth on them to put them back into the flower tent.

I suppose it is theoretically possible, but it is going to take longer for them to root. Clones don't need much light, but it does help to have a light on 20-24 hours.

Alright,thank-you for the info.
I will most likely have to build another box for clones since my veg box will get somewhat crowded and I would like to get those clones started as quickly as I can.

Just buy a tray and a humidity dome! Thats less then 8 bucks and you can re-use it.

Yep argee, dirt cheap hum. and dome @ your local Hydro shops..
You can get creative and use many things. like one of those containers that whole Roast Chicken comes in, etc.
Since, space is an issue with me and I take limited and small clones. Here is what I use.
Just food for thought.

You can cut the bottoms of plastic bottles to use as domes.


I have a cardboard box with an 18w T5HO in it for starting seeds and rooting clones. The box is about 18"x12"x12".

Simple but effective.

So, basically, you've lined a cardboard box with silver diamond mylar ?

How do you hang the T5HO ?

What is the plug for (in the pictures)?
It's connected to flex but I cannot tell it's purpose....

It has a small PC fan mounted in it for a little air movement once they come out of the dome.

The T5 in question is called a SUNBLASTER and it came with mounting brackets. I simply screwed these through the cardboard box into some plastic pieces from laminate floor laying you know the spacers, they are on top of the box.

I have a 100w led ufo that I'm not using.
can I just hang that and put the clones under it?
I think I'll try that.
If anyone else has ideas then please let me know.
Do clones need 18/6 light since I took them from a plant that was in veg?

It doesn't really matter what lighting cycle just use 18/6 or 20/4 or 24/0.
