Just because Roger Spooner is suffering from Stockholm syndrome does not mean reality is suspended. The speech she gave to a sympathetic audience at an NAACP group speaks for itself. I will grant that she later recognized that her racism was wrong, and I accept her repentance as genuine. That does not absolve her actions, though. It's kinda like the person who does a hit and run and kills somebody and then later turns himself in. A judge probably should take that act into consideration, but the fact remains that a homicide occurred.

If a white version of Sherrod had given that speech to the rotary club, she would have been crucified in the press and by you.
