Agreed. Pulling your daughter from the school only fixes one problem...your daughter. Homeschooling will take alot of effort on your end which im positive you are more than willing to put in. I dont think a parent sitting in the classroom will help mch as you likely wont get the teachers true behavior( pretty balls to be that cunty in front of the parents. ) As far as homeschooling are you and your wife in a position to gaurantee someone will be available everyday so your daughter is never left alone at home? Wouldnt be an option for us as somebody would have to quit theor job and basi lly become a stay at home.

My parents live with me, they have their own apartment upstairs so someone is always home. My wife works part time and her schedule is really flexible and I'm my own boss so I can make time when I need to.

My mother can also help with the home schooling, she's currently a youth counselor and has a lot of experience teaching kids.

This makes me extra grateful that my parents sent me to a girls grammar school. Trouble is; I had to leave the house at 7am for an 8:30am start. However everyone is used to commuting in London.

My vote is to check out the school 10 miles away. A bit of driving is a small sacrifice to make for a better education.

No, that's a bit young. I was at least 13. However it'd be quicker if you drive her than to run classes 9-3pm at home. It may turn out that a classmate lives nearby and you could do a school run share.

We don't even have the option of being able to help her on her subjects right now. The teacher doesn't allow them to bring classwork or textbooks home. She pretty much hands out assignments and gives them the answers in class, then they fail on tests. They're not learning anything.

Why isn't there cameras in all classrooms? There should be.

If a core of parents rotates this duty for total coverage, that teacher will have to suddenly watch her game. That increment of inconvenience alone could get her out of there. The probable bad news is that she will likely be hired into another school, transferring the problem.

We're still talking with the other parents to see if anything else can be done. We'll be talking with the principle Monday morning also. Parents or a camera in the classroom surely would change things up.

This whole thing just sucks. I remember loving grade school, my teacher was like another grandma.

We just got her first report card at the end of last week. From what we've heard from other parents is that there does seem to be an overall drop in grades.

Parent/teacher conferences were Friday and more on Monday, that's when we're going.

A few of the parents went ballistic Friday, I'm sure there will be more Monday.

Oh, and the principle of this school is also the principle of the other elementary school we're thinking about moving her to so we're not positive it's any better.

Dealing with assholes too early in life can break their spirit though and lead them down the wrong path. My daughter is a good kid and wants to learn, she's just not in a good environment for that to happen.

I really like the media exposure idea sunni.

as far as the principal goes, talking to him/her will only get you so far. He does not do the hiring/firing, and odds are he is well aware of the situation and powerless to do anything about it. You need to work your way up the food chain 420. The board and super should be your next step by the sound of it.

I really feel for you and your childs' situation here. I truly hope that you can just get the witch fired. I had more than a few awful teachers.

as far as moving/home schooling. Totally your call obviously but to me, teaching your kid to run from her problems may not be the best route. I say stand and fight. File complaints, and go to media as sunni said. I really like the wiring your kid up idea by c2g too. this would lend credibility to your cause....if it's legal. I would say a quick consult with an attorney would be time/money well spent if you plan on going to the next level with this.

I wish you the best in this bro. School is hard enough for these kids now with the increasing levels of work being put on the kids. I mean 4th graders are doing what used to be 6th grade work now.(and so on) Adding a bitch teacher on top of it......
