hi,im new to growing.i grew some plants once before (friend killed them acedently before they flowerd) and the seeds sprouted in 3 days.well its been almost 4 days now and still no sprout .here is what i did.i germinated the seeds until the seeds root poped out a few centameters,i planted them in some miricale grow seedling pot soil about 1/4 a inch deep.then lightly coverd the top with soil(i made sure the soil was moist before i planted).i mixed in a little bit of used coffee grinds in some of the pots just to see what resaults i would get.i then placed them in my closet with no lights for 2 days.(last time i did this and they sprouted and grew very fast.at the end of the second day i decided to put some compact florecent lights on them since there was absoulutly no sign of growth.i have them with 18 hours of light and 6 hours of no light.so its been 4 days now and i still havent had any growth signs.am i doing something wrong?should i start to water them with sugar water to help them grow?i would apreciate any helpfull sugestions ,thanks

if my ceeds dont pop up by the 5th day (sown straight in) then i dig around with a tool on the surface a little (very gently ) and uncover the sprout a little bit.
i plant the ceed the same way you do, but i also mist the top of the soil every few days, but that is also in a solo cup.

Ive just started growing too and had the same problem as this, except with mine 2 came up like rockets and 3 didnt. obviously being a newbie like me you can be your own worst enemy, and you could have done anything wrong accidentally. So id be inclined to just pull the soil away carefully to actually see if its still growing. Worst case you kill it and waste a few seeds, start again !!! also ...
1, You knew it sprouted because you saw it.
2, It may have sprouted a tad and died for whatever reason (and youll be sitting waiting for nothing) as i did.
3, Uncovering it might just tell you something and save it in time, maybe the soil is to dense to push through, over watered, really wrong PH, a rooting problem ... if you leave it and there is an issue, in a few more days its going to be dead for certain.
Basically ... Making mistakes is the best way to learn it, always has been ... its ok a seasoned grower saying be patient and leave it, don't stress it ... but he doesnt know exectly what you have done right or wrong, Hes probably assuming its been planted adequately like he would have done.
Go with your gut instinct and look, theres big percentage being a new grower somethings majorly or slightly wrong and try figure out what and learn from it.

Give it a solid 7 days before you go fucking around in there. It's very tempting and in the future if you want to be sure you aren't wasting time, germinate the seed until it has aobout a .5cm root poking out of it, in a wet folded paper towel in a zip lock bag. Then drop it about an in soil and gently knock some soil over the hole it is in without packing it. It should sprout passed the soil level within 2 days from that phase. Digging around now will probably disrupt and possibly break whatever plant parts have grown so far if any have. Breaking the seedling at this stage would result in almost certain death so let it establish itself before you pick around.

Try putting them in 1" rockwool or root riot cubes first, waaay better by miles.

Mg potting soil is just that potting soil and yes they recommend using their starter mix to start seeds in. And yes some strains are more sensitive than others. Don't be a cock unless you know what the fuck your talking about.
