The Main-Lining Thread

I only have this current main line to my name, and 2 of the critical kush's have a bunch of secondary branches, and the other pheno type is compact, little stretch and is mainly the 7 mains (lost one main early on)

Mazar x white rhino going now also has secondary branching that shot out after flower was initiated. I left all being my first mainline, and run with this 600w in this tent...I can always make bubble, or BHO with them...this is all for my own personal use so i don't mind.

I have to admit i have hard on for all those TGA strains man...

Ace of spades is the first on my list to try from subcool, and a must for my next grow....I'll get over the non-fem beans... the strains look so captivating.

Every time i see nug's Ace harvest in the beginning of the thread i drool homer simpson style....

I have grown subs Qrazy Train. It was one of the tastiest
smokes that I have grown. It did not have a massive yield,
but it had great structure, nice tops, and a decent yield.

I got Jack's Cleaner II and then Jack The Ripper from them
when I did a Lemon Hunt.

Then I got Plushberry, AoS, the Apollo cross, and Jillybean.

All are popped, one seed each. I will re-pop those that
come up male.

Hoo hoo!

Day 24 of 12/12

The ladies are doing ok,did the major flush this week then fed them on 11/17 with 450 ppm and on 11/19 with 730 ppm, very low N.

Buds are really beginning to plump and I cannot believe the amount of Trichomes on these ladies with them being so young.

Just a few pics for today.

Following the step-by-step instructions at groweasy.com (are there better instructions?), it says to

1. Wait until a plant grown from seed has 5-6 nodes.
2. Cut at (just above) the 3rd node.
3. Remove all growth below the 3rd node.

My question is: why should we wait to remove growth below the 3rd node? Wouldn't it be better to remove that growth around the time the 4th node appears? Wouldn't the removal of nodes 1 & 2 concentrate growth to nodes 3 and above? Maybe save a couple days waiting for nodes 5 & 6 to appear? And/or causing node 3 to be larger when node 4 and above are removed?

I don't understand what use nodes 1 & 2 play if they're just waiting to be removed at the same time nodes 4 and above are removed. If removing 1 & 2 are beneficial to force growth in the desired direction, why wouldn't it be beneficial at the soonest moment they (without impeding desired growth)?

Note: Sorry if this topic has been discussed elsewhere. I couldn't read 320 pages of this thread. :) If there are other step-by-step instructions, let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I can usually see which branch looks like it wants to be the main line.

I will make clones of the lower, weaker, branches if they are big enough.

Waiting longer means stronger roots, and waiting too long means alternating branches,
so it is an interesting problem.
