Is there anything (inexpensive that I don't have to order) I can add to soil to keep ph at a good level.Just wondering because I use bottled distilled water, so I never bother with Phing the water.
Do you know if a 6500k bulb benefits a flowering plant. The reason i ask is one of my 2700k bulbs went out and i replaced it with a 6500k bulb. Do you think that will be okay or should I buy another 2700k bulb?
Umm, not true...I use a mixed spectrum...I use a ratio of 3 to 1 in all my rooms...I have 6-2,000w dual spectrum Raptors (1 side is a MH and the other is an HPS) and it works fine and I think my plants like it better than just "one" spectrum...they grow at an alarming rate, I can go from bean sprout to 3ft plant in 10 weeks (I do use a supersoil) and get 6oz+ off of each plant at harvest...peace and good luck...buy another. flowering plants do not benefit from blue spectrum bulbs. in a pinch you can use a duel spectrum, but best to use MH for veg only and HPS for flower only when generally growing.
Yep, that's why I have all my intake filters hooked up to there own A/C window units...and all exhaust filters goes through my roof 40 feet in the air ...........EDIT: Your ballast has to be able to handle it, I have a digital ballast so I can switch from single 400w, 600w, 1,000w or I can double them for my 2 bulbs (MH & HPS)I never grew autos, but a mixed spectrum is desired.I used regular shop lights starting out long ago & used that 3 - 1 ratio,it was hard at flower time. You'll be fine with a 400.

edit:I just reread what riknstein wrote, that sounds perfect,I did not realize that both side could run @ the same time.
