So this is kinda a dumb question, but what what purpose of hairs? Becides telling you it's time to crop, I don't know why I don't know this, I've been smoking for ever, any ways just thought id ask

They are the tricromes. There will some debate on it and you really need a microscope to tell. But as they go from clear to milky to dark it tells you when to harvest. So as the hairs darken you are getting closer.

They are not the trichomes, they are pistils. The trichomes are the crystal looking things that contain THC.

Pistils gather the males pollen and the seeds develop inside the calyx.
