Personally, I don't much like dressing (stuffing) so it is a sort of non-issue for me, unAmerican, I know. I plan to use Jacques Pepin's turkey roasting method and will probably make the same stuffing he and Julia used because the kids like it.
I heard it was way better than vaseline.
We used to just hunt and eat small game birds like quail or partridge for thanksgiving because they wouldn't go to waste as much as the turkey does. I like turkey and all, but just not for 20 meals straight. Usually by day 3 the dogs are eating most of it.

I agree. There is only so much turkey I can stand.
I have a house in Reno and we have hundreds of western quail that we feed. The kids love them, but I have been thinking of thinning the herd a bit.

I made a turkey once with the stuffing put under the skin of the bird. I was surprised how well it turned out.
