Hi everybody, I just finished a jack herer grow which went well and now im currently working on setting up a perpetual grow in the same room with 2 different tents. Im sure there will be a small amount of light leakage but im not too much worried about it.

Heres my current setup. (I was using for veg/flower at first)
-2x4x7 Tent
-600W MH/HPS Ballast
-Air Cooled Reflector hood
6-inch 440 CFM Air Duct Inline Centrifugal Hydroponic Exhaust Fan
6-Inch Hydroponic Carbon Air Filter 470 CFM With Air Scrubber Oder Control
6-Inch 240 CFM Air Duct Inline Hydroponic Booster Fan (For intake/fresh air)
-I have a speed controller on the exhaust
-Small window A/C in the room. 3000btu i think

I plan on extending this setup to a perpetual grow with by adding a 4x4x7 tent in the same room that i plan on using for flower. I will use my current 600w light for flower and buy a new 400w for veg.
Heres the additional things i just ordered for that:

-Xtrasun XT6AC 6-Inch Xtrasun Flange White Air Coolable Reflector for Plants
Apollo Horticulture APL400 Hydroponic 400 - Watt HPS MH Digital Dimmable Electronic Ballast
4x4 Tent

I plan on running the 600W HPS in the 4x4 tent and the 400W in the 2x4 Tent. I will be running my exhaust fan in the flower tent with the carbon filter. I will also have the intake fan in the veg tent pulling in fresh air, the reflector in the veg tent will be connected to the one in the flower tent, which will be connected to the exhaust fan. SO basically im pulling air from both hoods through both tents and through one fan. will that be enough for the exhaust, and do you guys think i need another intake fan for the flower tent?

How does this setup sound to you guys? I think i might only do 4 plants in the 4x4 tent because illinois law states anything over 4 plants is considered a felony. If any of you have had experience with 4x4 tents how many plants do you grow? I might do a scrog to take up all the horizontal space and make a SoG. Im trying to get 1-2lbs every 60 days and i just bought 10 seeds from attitude. Reserve privada sour diesel/kosher kush, Nirvana ice, and i got CH9 Critical mass and POW 33 as freebies.

Input appreciated guys!

if your gonna get the 400w for veg you want Metal Halide as it will be the light spectrum required for vegging. HPS is all about the flowering but can veg and leads to more stretching.

Sorry I actually do use MH for veg. My mistake, that's what I meant

I use a 4x4 tent and I'm doing hydro with a 3.5x3.5 tray flood and drain. I have 7 plants in there right now and prob could fit 12-15 sog style

  • I will be running my exhaust fan in the flower tent with the carbon filter.
-- So is it Filter>Fan>ducting exhaust

I will also have the intake fan in the veg tent pulling in fresh air, the reflector in the veg tent will be connected to the one in the flower tent, which will be connected to the exhaust fan.
--How is it connected to the exhaust fan? I get your hood in the veg room would be open on one end then the other end would be connected w/ ducting to the flower room and how is that air being pulled through by the exhaust fan?

If I were in your shoes, I would look at LED's especially for any new veg lights... I regret my initial investment not starting off with LEDs fwiw...

Given the arguments about LEDs and flowering it seems many are of the opinion they rock it for vegging...

Hi, what do you mean by perpetual. I thought perpetual was like three staggered grows so you have a harvest every 3 weeks. Do you mean one grow right after another? Just curious...
