A pound or more per month

Hi,
I was wondering if it is reasonable to assume that I could harvest a pound per month using two 400 watt hid lamps for flowering in a flood and drain system.
What would be the best way to grow my plants ( SOG, Scrog, etc.)?
What size of an area should I have for flowering? and how many plants?
I was thinking a perpetual harvest every 2 or 3 weeks in Sog...Would this be the best way to go?
Thanks

is that a shovel nose in your avatar MR Fishy? yum.

Yeah you'll need a lot of light, more than 2 400s

 Yes, it can be done.

You will have to start planting a seed-run EVERY WEEK! Thas' right, start ten or 12 seeds every Sunday. This is an absolute must because you are gonna be getting male plants too, and this will decrease your harvest. As you are vegging, take cuts...you'll be glad you did. More on that later.

Keep track of your runs on a calendar.

As soon as run #1 is ready put 'em in flower...make it a Sunday if you can.

One week later (next Sunday) put run #2 in flower.

The Week after that, on Sunday, put run #3 in flower... and so on and so on until your veg/flower/harvest routine has become second nature to you. You keep this up, and begin supplimenting your grows with clones, the dream of harvesting a pound per month (probably lots more) will come true for you.

But I'll admonish you with the same warning everybody else has given:
be prepared for a LOT of work, every day!

Good luck & best wishes to you bro... 'shoes

seeds every week. man, that sounds expensive or like a lot of work. Cloning is the only way to go especially if you need lots of plants on a weekly basis. Set up a mothering area for sure.

Heck-Fire . . . it's hard enough to think up names for 20 plants and keep em' straight. You'll want to keep meticulous notes. It gets real confusing real fast.

you can use sog in square 1 gallon pots maybe some co2 and good nutes maybe 25 clones per light .. sounds i am using 2 400s and thats what i am gonna do next after my current grow is over

I think the honest answer to this question is no. I think you could maybe get 1/2-3/4 if you were very lucky, but it would take some incredible skill and a very special strain to pull 1lb a month with 2 400's. That's just not enough light to pull that weight. two 600's you may be able to pull if off, 2 1000's you could get there pretty easy, 1 lb coming up every month under each lamp. You would be hard pressed to find anone who has successfully pulled a 1lb harvest off of a 400 watt lamp. I'm not claiming that this is totally impossible, but I really hope you prove me wrong and then can spread your skills around to the rest of us.

what will be the height when they enter into the flowering room and what do you think your height will be when finished? good luck growing

I'm planning to have a perpetual harvest similar to Al B's. Three 2x4 flood tables, each with it's own nute tank. I'll harvest 20 plants every 3 weeks.
The tables will be lit by two 400 watters. At that rate I would need to haul .65 oz per plant per harvest. It theoretically works out to be 33 watts per square foot (800watts/24), and being able to keep the plants closer with the 400 watters should increase light intensity.
Maybe I am wrong, but with the right strain this doesn't seem too far-fetched...
what you guys think?

i dont think a pound a month with a 400w can be done. First of all it takes about 2 months for flowering anyways so...

The math can add up all you want...but math like that doesn't always apply to real world. those numbers need optimal conditions....maybe ten percent of people on here have optimal conditions. I say if you have to ask us then start smaller....figure out exactly how much work that is really gonna be...then if you pull it off come back on here and say....hey look what I pulled off fuckin nay sayers....I hope you can but it's a huge deal man. have you stood next to 100 one gallon containers yet? or maybe 160 of them? that's a huge room....just for flowering. One thing....don't let anyone say it can't be done...but try to use some 1000 watt hps lights for flowering when you get there....it will make life a lot better....and use a vertical setup all the way...then you can fit even more and use all of your light :blsmoke:
