Depends. Are you growing a certain strain? What is its called for flowering time? Are you in soil, hydro, aero? Your 50 days that doesnt count the first 7 days of 12/12 which you dont count as flowering til day 8 as you need a switch period or your times will be off. Is it a sativa heavy strain or indica which will help on guessing flowering time needed? How do the trich look? Will you flush just with water or use a flushing agent additive?

Lemon Kush is what im growing.

I heard 8-9 Weeks is the ideal flowering time.

Soil.

If not 50 very close to 50 days.

Dont know if Sativa or Indica (am dumb)

Trichs looks pretty clear still to my Eye.

Im flushing with just Pure filtered Water.

I do my final flush 7-10 days before harvest. That is plenty of time to leach out the flowering nutes, which is the reason for the final flush. BigSteve.

Never. There are no benefits of flushing (IMO). It's really up to you. I see no benefit in flushing bc the nutes are not getting flushed out of the buds. Just out of the soil.

...yeah, this is actually wrong man, here is a picture of a plant that has been properly flushed and you'll notice the yellow leaves, that is a sign that the plant is using up it's reserves as it were, ...if you don't flush until you see yellowing your weed will more than likely have a harshness to it that properly flushed bud will not.

See you said it yourself. You aren't really sure if it has benefits or not. Some people say yes and others no. To me I see no point.

I don't understand this flushing deal. You have people who say dont trim the leaves because they convert nutes to energy for the buds.
Now if that's the case, then all you're doing is flushing the leaves right?
I just finished a run with some clones from the same mother. I took 1 and started reducing nutes the last 2 wks, and none the last wk.
That was the sickliest looking plant I've grown in yrs when it finished.
I'm not trying to start a debate, just get a :
understanding of flushing.
PS..
Nice looking buds bozo

I don't flush gkid..
if you have 2 plants try a side by side...
I've done several...
Flushing is counterproductive imo and only serves to foxtail my herb..the classic argument of no other crop is flushed, or flushing outdoor crops etc always gets thrown around..nutes aren't bad for your bud. Look at tobacco growers..they know how nutes effect bud and they do not flush..potassium expands when hot and helps the bud burn slower..calcium makes the ash whiter and have more weight etc etc.....but guess what doesn't happen when you flush? Sugar leaves etc will not go yellow ...., the fan leaves do..that's their job..to provide food for the plant. You are not removing nutes from the bud..you are creating an abscission layer in the leaves....I assume you want your bud to burn "clean" to white ash lmao the white substance is leftover nutrients...soda ash potash etc..notice the ash on the end.......the cure is important and the fowl taste associated with not flushing is simply a poor cure..a harsh hot acrid taste from burning starches and chlorophyll....also associated with newbs oveefeeding making the cure that much harder..keeping the plant moist enough to stay alive and still maintain gass transfer..through this natural process of hydrolysis and respiration the components are broken down and becomes smooth

im about 50+ days into flower should i start to only water now?
Regardless of the flush or not debate, if you choose to flush....

I personally wait until I can put my scope down, and without moving the scope, see a solid amber crystal.
At this point I flush, give it @4days to use up that pure water, then I drop it in darkness for the next 3 days.

...i was being diplomatic homes, i tried to tell you you were wrong without telling you you were full of shit is all.

...if you want to prove me wrong why not flush one of your plants for the last 14 days of your next cycle and see if it doesn't taste better after you cure it. ...or just keep believing what you've read somewhere.

bozo
I've done it both ways, flushing did nothing for the taste of the end product because I properly and slowly dried it, then began the cure. You're not flushing away nutrients in the plants. Curing is all about breaking down the sugar and starches in the plant. Not "removing" nutrients.

^ No, you are not flushing out the stored nutrients in the plant.
The plant will feed on those stored nutrients though, so in essence you will lower the nitrogen levels in the plant tissue before you chop.

Nitrogen levels in the plant are used in the process to help break down the starches in sugar. Like I said, have done it both ways, have grown with processed salts and amended organic soil. Flushing does nothing to improve flavor, slow drying along with proper curing takes care of that.

I'm not going to get in a long drawn out debate on this issue as I feel the horse has been beaten to death.
