question about seedlings

I have a 1 week old seedling. She is about an inch tall. I have her under 2 small 17w flouros for now. I was wanting to know if she was on a heating mat would it help her grow more roots or not?

Heating pad is not necessary. If your temps are a lil low, then ya you could put a heating pad on low. But if temps are good, then don't worry about it. Just keep watering her and get some more light. The more light you have, the bigger and faster they will grow. I have my 3 babies (2 15 days and 1 9 days) under 2 20w cfls and they are doing alright. But if I had let's say, 100w or more, they would be bigger and continue to get bigger. With 34w of fluoro, you won't get too far in terms of growth. Get more light! But also with fluoro, don't go by height, cause these lights grow plants short and bushy. Fudge the growth progress by leafsets (amount of nodes) and by side growth production. My goal being a cfl grower is to keep my plants as short as possible with the most leaf and branch production as possible. Hope this helps. Happy growing

The temp in my small grow box is 75 to 80. I do have alot of cfls. I have 26w 6500k. I have 26w 2700k. I also have 2 55w 2700k. So should I remove the flouros and use 2 26w 6500k cfls? Should I use a 6500k and a 2700k mixed? Or should I use just 1 55w cfl?

I am seeing amazing results in just 2 days I was running 1 23 watt 6500k spectrum and 3 13 watt 2700k spectrum. I was able to get my money right and get 3 more 23 watt 6500k spectrum lights replacing the 2700k spectrum aswell as adding more watts. I am only on day 12 but the results are significantly different as the veg stages fav spectrum is 7600k (blue) and the 2700k is for flowering so adding the right spectrum and only 30 watts more made a HUGE diff. general rule of thumb is 100 watts per plant. I think ima go for 150 all CFL flower and veg

however if you cant get all 100+ watts to be 7600k the 2700k is better than nothing and does benefit id think having both spectrum like the sun at once but will thrive best on 76k

I have a 150w hps for flowering. I am growing a northern lights blue autoflower. I just did not wanna run a 150w hps for a seedling that is about 1 inch tall. So thats why I was asking about how many cfls to use until she gets alittle bigger.
