Light and ventilation setup

Hello my dear stoners.

I'm looking for a new grow cabinet. It will be most probably be one that I found, it has like 2,5ft tall, with 1,8 sqft of area.


With that setup, and thinking that i'll only grow inside that cabinet, what's more worth?

A 150W HPS(anything more than that will deliver 10k+ lumens per square feet, and it'll burn my plants) or a CFL setup, with like 6 twisted-bulb lamps of 25W?

-> If I choose the HPS, will I need cooling else than a ventilator? Like a cooltube or something like that?

Small space = COOL TUBE + extractor fan. Either way you will need a way to get rid of the heat whether you're going with cfls or the HPS. The better yield will come at a greater expense initially but it will be well worth going for the HPS light if you can.

I'm trying to kind of mimic what I saw from Keif's growing. He used 150W HPS with a CoolTube!

Also, you have any idea about pot size?

I have used a 150watt hps, I still have it no longer use it. It dosent give much heat at all and I could have it dam near 12 " way from my plant if u use a clip on fan blowing derictly across the bulb. I used it in a 2x2x3 with no problems. it's the smell that's giving to kill you if you don't have a set up. With a 1.8 sqr foot area a cool tube won't fit so don't try it unless u go to a 2.5x2.5 even then it gets tight after running duct .

u really think a cooltube isnt gonna fit in? i may try to get a bigger one

My cool tube which is a 6" diameter is about 2' long not including the duct elbows attached at both ends
