Going to do a DWC. Do i really need a 10" net pot lid for my 5 gallon buckets or can i use a smaller 6" or 8" net pot? I know the 10" holds more medium but do i need all that?

you can use 2"-3" whatver holds the plants in place, no need for 10" it will take up most of the 5gal bucket. just leve the roots 1/2 immersed in bubbles and 1/2way in air with lots of bubbles

Okay thanks. You mean to keep the water line below the bottom of the net pot right?
Heath Robinson said in his article that the plant will waste energy growing thick cord roots,I tried and found it to be true.
Try it,let me know what happens.

so what was his suggestion? to keep the roots submerged? normally water is lowered below net pot after the roots are penetrating the water surface, then roots are kept 1/2 submerged and water level lowered as they grow
