Vacuum seal hide smell

Hypothetically say I'm about to get on a bus togo out of town and I will be using greyhound and some times they have drug dogs at the bus station... So my question is. Hypothetically I plan on taking a q with me and I planed on vacuum sealing it and to be on the safe side I want to vacuum seal it inside another about five or more times. I will wash my hands after every bag. I will wipe down each bag with alcohol before putting it into the next bag. And hypothetically I it would only been packaged an hour or two befor heading to the bus. So hypothetically how does that sound. Would that be good? To much? And how long do you think it will take before the smell seats through? Oh and if anyone has any info they want to add I'm all ears!! Thanks'!!

Just vac it once wash your hands and put it in a new mason jar. You don't need 5 bags. odors can permeate through plastic b/c of microscopic holes. so all you can do is prolong the inevitable. Good luck. p.s. And I wouldn't pack any coffee grounds b/c It is a give away. Every dog handler knows about them. You will not be able to mask any smell from a dog. Only people around u.

Go to your local REI or hiking store and get a scent proof bear container. Done and done. Bear's sense of smell is way more sensitive than a dog's, so its over kill :)

Drop a joint into someones pocket that's ahead of you, it will keep the commies busy until you can board.

When they get busted, they will be pissed about the BS laws and the way they were treated. Maybe they will vote.

My friend have trained those dogs and he says the most effective way to get around a dogs nose is to take a bottle and put it in boiling water for some time and then take it up and make sure NOTHING touches the bottle on the outside.. and then simply drop some content in the bottle and screw the cap on.. This should be done just before takeoff because it will not prevent the dog sniffing it after some time.. Its a short timeline.. I dont know the exact timeline..

Everything is permeable, eventually the smell will leach out of the plastic! If you vacuum it and bounce immediately chances see you will be cool, so long as you don't contaminate the bags outside surface! You have a time limit! Watch never get busted again!

If plastic is permeable, and you have a vacuum seal, then you have created negative pressure within the bag. As long as it's clean, it will pass.

LOL!! I wouldn't agree with it, or do that to an innocent bystander, but if that happened to more people, you are right, it MIGHT provoke them into a more proactive response to these ridiculous laws!!

After vacu-sealing be sure you wipe down the outside of the package too. I would put the bags in a sealed Tupperware bowl with coffee grounds surrounding the package. Then I would wrap it all in some leather. I used to use a pair of leather pants when I sent stuff long distance. BigSteve.

triple wrap it.... wear rubber gloves and change them every layer of plastic.... the goal is to not contaminate the outside layer of the bag... u will get busted that way a dog will smell it... if u wrap it right u have a 2 day window to beat the k9.....

can you tell me more about the two day window?

I'm guessing this is a rough estimate! It's because eventually the marijuana will permeate the bag, regardless of how many layers and contamination on the outside, it WILL eventually be detectable! Negative pressure or not!

Haven't read through the whole thread, but in my (hypothetical) experience of use with transportation in vacuum seals is this:

I heard each seal is good for 14 hours, so if its gonna take 56 hours then quadruple bag it. Not sure how true this is, but yeah layer helps. You can tell 1 bag doesn't do it bc you can start to smell it stronger and stronger as you crack each layer.

Also, I generally just pour a slosh on top of each sealed bag, after I've put it in the next bag (but before that next bag is sealed). The alcohol will move around and break down any oils, plus help as a barrier.

I might also recommend wrapping it all in a moist pillow case or something, and letting it mildew a little. Just another smell to throw them off.

God speed, traveler.

Ok so hypothetically I only need to hind the smell for at most five hour and the only spot I'm worried about is with in the first two and half hours. And from there out I'm not worried...... So my plan is to vacuum seal it at least four time and with each time I will wash my hands, then whip down each bags with alcohol to pull off any oils I don't want.. Hoping it does... So "hypothetically" I am feeling pretty confident.. And hell I might ever go all out and layer it five time just for shits and giggles..

i read that tsa guys get on periodically throughout the ride although they usually have bomb sniffing dogs, dea and their drug dogs also get on unannounced along the way. also albuquerque Amtrak employees will tip popo off if you meet certain criteria like paying in cash. no luggage, etc. read the link.
