Whats wrong with my babies??

Ok guys, I have been growing in supersoil and promix with the same problems for months now and am beginning to think that I just cant grow cannabis. I have 3 mothers in 10 gal pots of super soil and I have a tray of babies in pro mix HP at the moment. (doing a supersoil/promix comparison grow) The supersoil moms were doing fine for 1-2 weeks after transplant but then started to have problems. My plants always start out great but as time goes on in veg the new growth starts to become very small and spindly and turns a yellowish/lime green and is very stunted. The stems are also VERY purple. PH DOES NOT SEEM TO BE THE PROBLEM. I ph to 6.0-6.2 for soil and 5.7-6.0 for the pro mix, just tonight I flushed everything with plain phed water and the run off of everything was in the 6.0 range. They are getting plenty of nutrients and cal/mg and if its not a PH problem I don't know what to do! Seems weird that both mediums liquid nutes or not I am having the same problem. I feel like it has to be something with my water? Pics below I am stumped.

P.S. Running 200-225ppm tap water through a tall boy carbon filter (not RO)

They look over watered, possibly from the flush but maybe letting them dry more is a good idea.

I would say it could be your water since both plants in super soil and the plants in just pro mix are doing the same thing, try watering them with your water the way it is don't ph it first

I just looked it up and the book says it is probably nutrient buildup, it say flush your medium, lower your nutrient dose and flush weekliy
Also with liquid nutes you shouldn't feed every watering (should know this) imo you should get those small plant out of the k cups I never feed my plant while there in the k cups

I had similar problems. Tested my water and found that it had high levels of sodium. This was causing lock out. Changed to RO water and everything has been good.

Don't flush it's not a nutrient build up. Your tap water is shit and you need to invest in an ro system ASAP. Trust me I had this issue and have it when my filters in my ro go bad. Get some distilled water and add general organics cal mag at 5 tsp per gallon until you get an ro system.

Looks like your water is high in iron. Does it smell when you put your nose to the faucet? Do you have well water?

Please don't flush or do anything but get good water. Growth will be normal and resume at a fast pace after 2-3 waterings using good water. Please don't use straight tap you will thank me in a few weeks when your plants are praying to the lights and turn dark green and stop getting necrosis of the leaves.

Is is your tap water especially cold? That can also cause similar symptoms.

I'm leaning toward an environmental issue, because you're seeing the same symptoms in plants growing in different soils. 200-225 ppm really isn't that bad for tap water, but it would help to know what's in it. Assuming you are on City water (not well water), you should be able to access an analytical report from your municipality. Most of them post this online.

What is the starting pH of your water, and what are you using to adjust it? As others have touched on, adjusting pH in organics will usually cause more problems than it fixes.

Had the same exact issues and it was the water. My well water is 130 ppm but my iron is so high it messes everything up and makes my leaves look exactly like in his pics along with the stems and everything else.

We need more details... You mentioned a mom in a 10-gal pot? And I assume her "babies" are in the keg cups, some of which are ProMix and others super soil?

Those things are DEFINTELY beyond ready to be moved to bigger pots... Not sure what other recommendations to make without knowing a little more background.

Get a stealth ro system by hydrologic. 100 gallon a day is like $160 or so. Get the new one with the catalyst filter as it will take much more iron out and extend your ro membrane life. Once you get an ro system most of your problems will go away as long as your environment, genetics, and lighting are all good. Just remember if you use pure ro water you need to add cal mag to your water prior to watering or you will kill your plants as it will leach nutrients from the plant. I use general organics cal mag at the rate of 1 tsp per gallon of water. I used to cut my ro water with my well water 50/50 but if your filters go bad it will cause lockouts down the road so now I use pure ro water with cal mag added in. Use super soil too if you want some dank. This sour grapes will yield me over 6 zips by using water only. She is only 4 weeks along at the time of this pic.

Do you ph your RO water after you add the cal mag? I just add the cal mag and never ph anything and seem to be getting great results.

I Never ph my water I am growing in true living organics brotha. I let the plant deal with that shit. I just watch over them, give them water and some tlc and they reward me in the end.

OK guys sorry it has been a while since I have had time to post. I THINK I figured out what is going on here. I found a water quality report for my water and it is as follows:

I ph to 6.0-6.5

The water I give my plants has been colder recently yes, I would say the water out of the tap is in the 50-60 degree range sometimes. Nighttime temps don't get below 65.

I am not in a large city and the source of this water is ground water, "natural water tables". I have recently been using cal/mg since I began to see ca/mg problems without it last run. But, at this point I think I have overdosed with CA locking out MG, P and possibly everything else. I flushed and fed 1/4 strength nutes w/o ca/mg. Things are looking better but RO may be looking like a good idea.

Yeah I would t touch cal mag until you get an RO system. Your causing more issues by using the cal mag as you have more than enough of it in your tap water.

Did they not give you your iron content in the water analysis? Your hardness is high and that along with the sodium (and iron?) is most likely causing your problems. The cold water honestly is not that big of a deal as my soil gets down to the low 60s at night and I don't experience any issues. If you are worried about the water temps just let your water acclimate to the temp in your room and you will be safe.

i would also take spicy sativas advice and quit ph ing your water. The plant and microbes will take care of the ph naturally. All that you are doing is killing off your micro herd by ph ing unless you are using an organic method of lowering ph. But from your posts it sounds like you are using a chemical with a dye which will definitely kill off your micro herd.

Just bite the bullet and get an ro now or you will cause problems with your soil overall. Good thing you are in a smaller pot now but once you get to flower the negative effects will be to far gone and your potency, quality, and yield will all suffer. Water is crucial to indoor gardening success.

You will be a happy camper once you get your water under control.

Also spicy sativa he is growing in two different soils but that would not mean simply an environmental problem. He is using the same water on both types of soil as well so we can't deduce that it is only environmental. IMO it is either the environment or the water but he must make a change on one variable first to come to a solid conclusion. Fixing the water is a cheaper alternative and from his issues it honestly sound like a water problem and not an environmental one.

The he choice is yours bugslaa. I think you have gotten good advice from multiple members of the riu community and you should be able to turn your situation around. Happy holidays and good luck growing. BTW your outdoor run looked pretty nice.
