Well, I kind of don't use them at the exact same time, what I'll do is like do a res change and use the aqua shield, then 2-3 days later I'll start adding squirts of peroxide. I'll keep adding more and more peroxide every couple days until I do a res change again.
Another product I use is hygrozyme. It's supposed to help get rid of organic matter. It works great as a soak for the roots (mix a strong concentration with water) in a bowl and let the roots just soak. I usually do it for like 20 minutes, and then I'll dip the roots in fresh water after trying to pull some of the slime off with my fingers.
You can pick out easy to get to chunks (edit: wtf did I just type? I meant you can pick out the big chunks of slime when you have the net pot pulled out), but the second quick rinse also helps get rid of the excess root pieces that have broken off. Maybe people don't normally get chunks of the slime; where my setup is aeroponic the slime builds up at my sprayer tips and I have to take them out and clean them, and usually when I do I use a toothpick or something to pull slime "plugs" from the holes in the line. I like to take all of my plants out first, bc if not the slime chunks will just slide down to the next netpot site and get caught in the roots of that next plant.
