grow tent question

I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out who makes this "600d" tent and I can't figure it out. I saw one that was a secret jardin knock off and a video of one that was a silver edition knock off. It looks like some company in china is just copying some of the more popular tents and calling them "600d". They "look" good but who knows. You may be surprised to see small details such as the stitching not being up to par. You could also have light leaks.
If it were me I'd go with a name brand. Right now gorilla is the best but they're pricey. You get a lot of head room though and a tent is an investment so it's worth it IMO. If you don't want to pay up for the gorilla I'd get a secret jardin. I've got the 3x3 dr90 and it's a good tent. I do wish I had the extra head room for certain strains so I may end up with a gorilla at some point.

HTG only sells agromax tents as far as I know and I don't see any tent on their website with those dimensions. The agromax tents are good. In fact, they've come a long way in the last couple of years. There was what I believe to be a rumor floating around years ago that their old tents were offgassing but I think it was just that, a rumor.
I actually have a lot of HTG stuff. Lights, germination stuff, fans, etc.. Basically everything I have except my tent is HTG and it works well.

I keep seeing that "600d" associated with a whole bunch of tents now from a whole bunch of different manufacturers. It's got to stand for something technical that we're not aware of. It's not a brand, but a dimension or measurment of some sort.
Back to the agromax. If that's what you're looking at I think they're good now. The only thing I see that I don't like about them is that the rectangular air vents on the bottom of the tent open and close from the inside of the tent. That's a poor design in my opinion b/c your plants will be in the way and you can't open and close the vents without opening up your tent and moving your plants. The jardin vents like that open and close from the outside. That's the only thing I see that I don't like about the agromax at this point.

I gotta say that cheap knockoffs work pretty well.
I picked up one that has those flaps on the inside, not a huge deal, but due to my fan/filter I force air in from every seam.
Only downside I see with tents is the weight restrictions for hanging things. I'm hanging my tube light and my carbon filter. I have a crack in the plastic housing/support. I think if you can get a couple good years out of a tent, that's pretty good. Next time around , I will probably buy two tents to cannibalize between the sets as needed

just an fyi gang, i bought some items from the same ol place and my 1000 watt ballast went with in 10 months of purchase and only running 12/12,the tent is ok if its by itself in a room without much light because the stitching sucks.almost all the seams can be seen from the inside of the tent,not outside as much but inside you deff get light leaks ,had 6 go hermie before i figured it out,was blaming the breeders for shit genetics but it was the tent. so i suggest you start buying from somewhere else. i thought the cheaper way was better in the long run but when you spend 6 months trashing plants and having your light go out in the middle of a grow then you will see the light,YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR..

If you see light on the outside then light gets inside. The last thing i want is to pay for a tent and have to cover it with something to hide it.
That's not necessarily true. Think about it. You are containing a very, very bright light in a small area, that being the inside of the tent. When the light is on in my jardin you can a tiny bit of light coming out of the pinholes around the stiching of the zipper. It's not much, just a little. That doesn't mean that light from the room the tent is in, which wouldn't be as bright, is getting into the tent through those same pinholes.
You may need to pay up for the gorilla if you want absolutely "zero" light getting out. That's what the gorilla people claim anyway, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were very tiny, pinhole sized areas where light from an HID gets out with the gorilla tents as well.

JUST MY 2 CENTS I OWN A AVIDITI GROW TENT PURCHASED ON AMAZON AND IT HAS NO GLOW AT ALL EVEN IN PITCH BLACK I HAVE TO SEARCH FOR THE LIGHT AND STILL CANT FIND IT AND THEIR NOT TOO EXPENSIVE..

600d refers to the thickness of the cloth material used to make the tent. A tent made from 300d material is very thin material and will be on the cheapest of the cheap Chinese made tents. A 600d tent is made with a thicker, much more durable material. The 'd' stands for 'denier'- I don't know much more than this about it but if you are interested a quick Google would probably get you a better description than this.

with tents, you get what you pay for. If you want a good tent without breaking the bank, go with darkstreet tents. They are made by the same company that makes secret jarden tents (correct me if im wrong) and they are good priced with metal poles so your lights dont fall on your plants.

600d refers to the thickness of the fabric. My 4x8 tent is a 600d fabric, totally blacked out. A couple pin holes, nbd, but it's super dark. 600d is a nice heavy fabric.
