B) If I do use them in a debate, where does that place me in that interaction ?

b2) I try to operate on a high moral ground, though not perfect I do concentrate my effort towards what I place in high value. Example, went out Friday night, a very attractive younger woman propositioned me no strings attached. I declined knowing that no one would find out most likely. I'm not going to lie I was tempted, she had black hair and big boobs. I have no guilt, and no shame from friday and can go back to that place with my wife in the future and not worry about it.

When I was younger we used the phrase "As queer as a three dollar bill", the use of that word wasn't as a derogative term but closer it's more proper meaning..as in odd, strange

I appreciate your honesty and the very often casual use that alot of people use them, myself at times included at times like the context you gave is a great point to be raised.

I have exactly the same issue.
Despite being a left wing libertarian who despises racism and homophobia, I still use certain terms that have been becoming unacceptable for the last decade, as a matter of course.
I think it's a generational thing
AND, the terminology never offends any of the non-whites I know or my gay cousin but does provoke censure from politically correct whites.

I'm not sure if this will be believed but my best friend at school had the name Geoffrey Fagge.

A fag or fag end is a slang term for cigarette in UK.

Faggots were bundles of kindling and sticks used to light fires.

The origin of the word Fag/fagget being used as a derogatory term for homosexuals is unknown.

And the surname Fagge used to refer to a baker of flat bread loafs.

I'll get serious for a second. My opinion of course...

A2. Never Acceptable. Same as using any other derogatory slur.
B2. If I hear someone say something derogatory, I automatically assume they're part autistic.

With that being said words and language are weird things. Words such as gay and faggot, while they entered my vocabulary meaning homosexual, have taken on more of a meaning of stupid or dumb and no longer homosexual. Kind of like saying hating somebody because they're gay is pretty gay. Is that a way to fight the prejudice? Repurpose the word? I don't know. Anywho, when I hear someone hating on a person for being who they are, be it gay, fat, black, asian I just automatically think the initial person is a terrible human being.
