The fact that him an a&e are both exercising their rights shows the US is headed in a bad direction? How does this situation even reflect on the country's direction at all?I'd say it's proven to not be....didn't they remove him from the show?
that's not what he said or how he said it...and you know it
so you really believe the direction this country is heading is good?
Because you can't say anything anymore without some special interests group getting offended. The fact that him an a&e are both exercising their rights shows the US is headed in a bad direction? How does this situation even reflect on the country's direction at all?
No right has been infringed upon in this situation. He is free to say what he wants, and a&e is free to boot him because of it. Who is losing their rights? Should the "special interests" aka homsexuals not be allowed to voice their opinion on what he said?Because you can't say anything anymore without some special interests group getting offended.
We our losing our rights slowly but surely.
that was not a metaphor, i paraphrased your post.there you go again with another unflattering metaphor.
.
The fact that him an a&e are both exercising their rights shows the US is headed in a bad direction? How does this situation even reflect on the country's direction at all?
hey bombur what he said ^^Because you can't say anything anymore without some special interests group getting offended.
We our losing our rights slowly but surely.
Of course they should but my point is that the majority of america is too busy staring @ the lights and sirens and don't notice that our rights and wealth are slowly being stripped away by lawsuits and corporate greed. No right has been infringed upon in this situation. He is free to say what he wants, and a&e is free to boot him because of it. Who is losing their rights? Should the "special interests" aka homsexuals not be allowed to voice their opinion on what he said?
It's just like the Paula Dean statement. No right has been infringed upon in this situation. He is free to say what he wants, and a&e is free to boot him because of it. Who is losing their rights? Should the "special interests" aka homsexuals not be allowed to voice their opinion on what he said?
Free speech doesn't mean you get to say whatever, whenever with no consequences. You claim you can't say anything without people getting offended, and then say we're losing our rights. Are the offended not allowed to speak their mind, just as this man has done? You make no sense..
paula dean didn't have shit on DD. I think I read somewhere that dd grossed something like 450 million last year for a&e.When you're in a position like Phil Robertson, interviews aren't the best time to exercise your right to free speech. He can beleive whatever the fuck he wants and shares his close minded POV with millions of people, but you've gotta look at it from a business perspective... for him, the show, and A&E. Food Network dropped Paula like a hot potato as soon as she opened her mouth.... duh.. it was the only way to avoid any repercussions she might've caused. I have NO problem with what he said... I respect his opinion as much as the next guy... but I don't see why the media/network response is so shocking to the family.
What homo group responded to Phil's comment?
None
Flip Wilson? lolwell, there's this....
GLAAD rep Wilson Cruz responded to Robertson's remarks with a statement:
"Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil's lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe. He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans -- and Americans -- who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples.
"Phil's decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to reexamine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.
whether A&E removed him from the show or not is irrelevant to my point that people cater to bigotry.I'd say it's proven to not be....didn't they remove him from the show?
his words are there for all to see, you posted them.that's not what he said or how he said it...and you know it
in what respect?so you really believe the direction this country is heading is good?
who is losing their rights because of old phil?Because you can't say anything anymore without some special interests group getting offended.
We our losing our rights slowly but surely.
agree with some of this...too tired to debate it further tonite. Kinda lost my train of thought.whether A&E removed him from the show or not is irrelevant to my point that people cater to bigotry.
has sarah palin even tweeted about this yet? i'm not gonna google it, but i bet she has.
remember when there was a controversy over chic-fil-A? something about how their owner donated to an anti-gay hate group that lobbied congress to NOT condemn a 'kill the gays' bill in uganda.
who would lobby against condemning such an act? who would come out and show public support for such bigotry?
his words are there for all to see, you posted them.
he put gays in the same class as those who swindle, are drunkards, and fuck animals.
i think the act of two females pleasuring each other orally is a beautiful thing, as beautiful as when i put my erect penis between my wife's ample breasts and thrust until i ejaculate all over her body.
no one should face shame for their sexual proclivities in the privacy of their own homes.
in what respect?
i feel there is creeping fascism in this nation. that's not good.
but equal rights for gays is headed in the right direction. not only with respect to their right to marry like the rest of us enjoy, but also with respect to workplace protections. you can still be fired for being gay all over the place, and likening gays to drunken goat fucking horse thieves is not exactly cool with that in mind.
but i remain positive that this is still the best nation on earth to be born into, and will be for as long as i can tell.
so how exactly is comparing beautiful lesbian lovemaking to swindling and animal fucking not disrespectful?“My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together...*I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different"
