the ones we had in the 70's are now cool again.. the plastic cheapo ones.. in the 80's we had the wider board with the plastic rails to add to do tricks..

Lived in CT during my "skater days" and we had this large hill we would go down on those cheap ass plastic boards.. hitting speed wobble about 1/5th thru the run.. then finding the only pebble in a 1000 foot radius flying off the board onto the road..

brother and I were doing the dual skateboard sitting thing and same hill leaning into and out of the crap in our way.. brother looses balance causing me to crash my tail bone into the side of the curb.. didn't break it.. but was damn near the worst pain I have felt

Ouch. Tuck and slide WW, tuck and slide!! I've been skating since I was 12. I don't make it out nearly as much as I like.
I used to love to twirl and glide. Then a rock got in the way (outdoor skating is free) and down I went. Broke the same arm in almost the same place 2 years running. I don't skate anymore.

I skate still. Do mostly shooting/editing though now. But i can still do some nice frontside flips and have a pretty good hardflip. Not a rail/grind person though. The thought of my nuts shattering keeps me crippled. And 99.99% of all skateable hand rails in my area are knobbed.

Loves me a good ledge though. Id take a million concrete shinners over 1 metal rail crackin my nuts in half.

Trucks are thunder or indie, bones swiss, ricta, local skate shop board (cant beat a solid $30 board), 8.0 sometimes 8.1, mob tape, red dodos, used to record with a dvx100a now i got a t3i and tamrom 10-24. Mostly street with occasional mini ramp action.

I did get to see a 13 year old girl kick a 13 year old boy in the nads with skates on..
we were sitting outside talking to the other kids and this one new neighbor kept bugging the crap outta this girl... this was back in the 80's so the skates must have been made outta like some 10lbs of material.. kid went down quick.. I was pretty young when this happened but lesson was instantly learned.. be nice to the lady folk..

Good old leather and steel probably with canvas for support. Only expensive pairs were made of this light ass plastic and carbon fibre and synthetic cloths like they got now a days haha.

Ooooh swiss ceramics, no where up north would ever order those in for me soo good abec rating is irrelavant. I blow up a set of shake junt bearings in a day, but my cheap shots just last and last. I can usually get a deck to last as im hurting usually and if not bolts i just kick it away but these new p2 boards are shit. Im lucky i live a block from the local concrete park thet has a small steet section and eight foot mini. Unfortunately its almost always full of bmx kids or young kids on razor scooters. Should be glad that rollerblades are no longer popular.
Sad i used to ride with guys like paul machinau, moses itkonen, alex chalmers, damon kern, rob sluggo boyce, even colin mckay when he was in van. Dont forget a veeery junked out jason ellis(at the time) and now i skate alone almost always.

Board, (parks only, and I'm really good at finding the ONLY rock in the park, halfway down the high side ramp. I have more road rash from boarding than I do from my 2 major motorcycle wrecks.) The boss lady SAID I could get a new board, but when I took her into the skate shop, she rolled her eyes and said "Really?" before walking back into the head shop.
Bladed (ice) ... I played hockey until I was 12, goalie... Was out for a season because I broke my ankle over the summer previous... I run like a special Olympics candidate.
Inline -- I used to live up in Rio Rancho, I'd strap my blades on, and WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE down the hill to the RailRunner station!

I don't have any of the three now. :-( Sad sad Minne...
