Hows my lady doing? pictures of its clones also.

Hey fellas, heres my lady. You would have to look at my journal to understand this plants chaotic life. However, let me know what you think.
This Female is 6 Weeks 4 Days from seed. When i say from seed i mean 6 weeks 4 days ago i planted an ungerminated seed in soil.

Here she is.




Heres some shots of the clones, they are nearly identical. Pictures posted below are of two individual clones. ( i couldnt differentiate between the pics lol )



Heres the rundown on the clones life:
- Dec 4th: clones taken with no rooting compound/cloning gel etc. Just dechlorinated tap water at ph 6.5
- Dec 12th: transplanted clones from a cloner bucket to soil, 24hr veg
- Dec 15th: Removed best two clones from veg room, inserted into flower room.
The clones pictures are the flowering clones. The other ones that are in the veg room are being used as an experiment.
Ive been stressing each of my remaining clones in veg room for experience with different plant conditions.
Underwatering one, overwateing the other, etc. Doing this so i can see and recognise the visual signs of specific plant problems.

Anyway, let me know what you think of my mother and clones. I will moniter to answer any questions asked.

Seems to look pretty good to me, the 3rd pic shows brown leaves, I am assuming it's only the way the pic was taken?

Yes nevyn, you are correct. Something about the ambient lighting in the room i was photographing in changed, resulting in different picture coloring. I think it has something to do with the auto-adjusting capabilities of my phone lol.

I have done little research on the potential yield of clones that are thrown straight into 12-12. If anyone has some first hand experience with this i would love to hear about it. Based on the growth of my clone, and the number of budsites... i am thinking probably 14-28grams. My little clones remind me of pictures i have seen of autoflowers from seed.
I understand potential yield and general responsiveness of the clones has alot to do with their genetics, im just looking for some vague ballpark figures.

Also i have not fed said clones anything but plain tap water. Growing medium is roots organic original soil with 25% perlite mix/added. I am wondering when i should start to implement feeding?

One last thing, this is just an observation from my clones lifespan.
I have the two clones in the same room as the mother, the clones canopys are not at the same height as the mother plant. As a result i expected the clones to strech towards the light. Much to my surprise they do not appear to be streching much to me. I wonder why that is?

Info on the nutrients, i have a small variety of organics to choose from.
- Roots organic Buddha Grow
- Roots organic Buddha bloom
^ These are my only bottled nutrients.
- Alfalfa meal
- Worm castings
- Kelp extract.
- excelerite soil additive for trace element deficiencies. I only use this once.
- Silica

The nutrient values on the roots products seems extremely low compared to the ratios on most nutrients... If anyone has experience using the roots grow + bloom please provide your advice as well, it would be a great help to me.

From the stuff I have read, tap water has chlorine in it (I think it's chlorine), do you let it stand for a day or two before using it?

As for nutes, my country has different brands to yours so I am always lost when people talk about nute's, I just use a gro, micro and bloom al mixed together in different ratio's, 3-2-1 method. I have no nute burn and I can see growth everyday so I reckon that's working.

I would nute those clones I reckon, they seem to be almost crying out for food, lol.

You are correct about chlorine in the tap water at my location. Thanks to the information of various RIU posters i learned early to allow my water supply to sit out for 24-48hrs to allow the chlorine to evaporate. So check and check, all set there.

Thanks for taking a look at my clones, i just watered everything today, so i will have to wait about a week for my soil to dry. Next time i can water i will give the clones a nice feeding at 1/4th recommended strength.

The ratios in my nutrients are as follows:
Roots Buddha Grow - 2N-0.25P-1.5K
Roots Buddha Bloom - 0.5N-2P-1K

As nevyn mentioned earlier. The reddish hue you are seeing on the top fan leaves of Pic #3 is from a change in lighting in the room i was photographing in.

Check with your water company, and see if they use Chlorine, or Chloramine.
If Chloramine, letting it sit won't help ya any, as it won't evap off as Chlorine will.
If Chlorine, 24 hrs is plenty as long as it's in a bucket or something with surface area, not a pop bottle or something.
If ya are wanting an ounce from those clones, I would suggest vegging for a couple weeks if not more, if you can.
I don't remember you mentioning how much or what kind of light you're using, but I would recommend adding more, as the openness of your female could be improved, and I'll bet if you put your clones under the same light, they will turn out stretchy.
As far as feeding, looks like you're doing fine.

400w HPS is the current light source. I am using a 100w (true watts) LED Multispectrum panel for side lighting.
Thank you for the recommendation on the clones. In the future i will remember to veg 1-2 weeks if i expect to see any decent yield off my clones.

My mother plant may appear to "open." This is due to a vigilant trimming i did 3 days ago. Removed 55 fan leaves. Had to go back into my storage and count them.
I removed all of these leaves for two reasons.
- Ive been told its best not to defoliate in flower, so i decided to prune the leaves back one final time, i wont defoliate again for the duration of the grow.
- Tons of old fan leaves were covering my smaller branches. I exposed 14 growing shoots to light by cutting out a bunch of the fan leaves from the mid section of the plant.

The plant was sad for about 24hrs. Smaller growth cupped under and appeared dry. On the second morning the plant looks better than ever before. This morning was the first time i have seen the plant "reaching for light" in over a month. When i woke up all 14 of the new growing shoots had grown atleast an inch, and long beautiful trichs were everywhere.
It was nice to see the large fan leaves tilted up towards the light at a 45 degree angle when i woke up.

The structure of my mother plant is close to mainlining. It has two main colas that are identical in size, and a ton of growing shoots coming off each cola.
The clones i have are currently under the exact same lighting as the mother plant, but the clones are 2ft farther away from the light. I am perplexed as to why the clones are not streching. I can only assume my LED panel is providing a decent amount of side lighting.

As far as Water goes i have checked its contents. There are traces of chloramides from years ago in the water system. They are no longer used in my area, but traces still exist, extremely low levels. My primary issue is chlorine as you mentioned, which is too easy to put in a 5gal bucket for 24-48hrs for evaporation. I have not noticed any adverse affects to using my tap water as of now. I actually use the tap water over RO by preference because of the calcium in the tap water.

I can't say I agree with your 55 leaf thinning, but if it works for you, then more power to ya.
I am impressed with the way in which you address all points suggested in your replies, and follow through, as well as your neat, precise replies, meaning spelling, punctuation, even paragraphs.
I never had any problem with a couple plants there in Or., and where I am now, I still use tap water, with just a touch of PH down during Winter, and a little more in the Summer.
As far as your light, try bringing the clones in closer, and even putting them on top of boxes or something to bring them up level (canopy wise) with your fem. plant.
