Flushing with 6.5pH tap water.

I am asking for input on how you might proceed from here.
We are into the 9th week of veg, and she will now have flushed, clean soil. A bad watering caused lockouts by salt buildup.

Since I may be asked, I had been feeding with each watering. So with the freshly flushed, hopefully lower ppm as well, medium I would like to do what's best.

She has been showing the flowering hairs for a week now. Any input on this? Ok to keep her in veg?

1000w of cfl/led with 700w on now. (Mix of 6500/2700)

Temp 78.2/79.5 at canopy (66 with lights off)
Humidity 45%

After 7 gallons the flush water is still murky amber, smells like dirt and not nutrients which hopefully is good.

Do I need to run more through the soil?

She is back under light now, and I will do either more tap water, or soil drench with liquid bone meal 0-10-0 2 tblspoon to dissolve the salts and bring soil pH back to 6.5

Was the 7 gallons enough, or do I need to run more through her for the flush to be fully effective? The medium is a 5 gallon felt pot. Thank you.

i usally run about 2 gallons thru my small cups to completely change the ph. A good rule is 2x the pot size, so 5 gal pot, 10 gallons of water. Looks good, make sure you dont screw up the soil to much now you've got her this far.... I only flush when there is a serious problem or 2 weeks before harvest. Looks like a bushey bitch!! buds will be the true test, what strain?

Thanks sativa. She is Sour D-Og. We've low stress trained the low stress training, and opened up at least a foot more of vertical height.

Mmm my room smells good. I am happy.

Lots of leaves with red stems and signs of mg and phosphorus def. Her new growth is clean and clear. I should probably put her into flowering cause it's only going to either get better or ..

Well hopefully your flush and reduced feedings will get it back on track. You'll be adding more P soon and you can always add Mg as needed.

I checked her before the lights out, and new growth is much improved, multiple close nodes again, stalk frosty again, healthy. Lighter green, slightly yellow, which is ok. I put a soil nutrient 2-5-2 nitrogen 2%, phosphate 5%, potash 2%, calcium 3%, & magnesium 1%, in with the 8th gallon of the flushing that also had a 0-10-0 liquid bone meal phosphate 10%. 2 1/2 tblspoon of the bonemeal and about a tablespoon of of the soil nutrient. It was a soil drench with the appropriate runoff. This was on Saturday evening, when we did the entire flushing.

We are pretty much ready to flower once we are for sure recalibrated. Our tent is 4x2x5 and I can get the lights up to where they take less than a foot space. She is now nearing two feet from floor to canopy, that means we have about two feet for upwards growth.

Another possibly option is to take her out of the tent, that would add 1-3 feet of height, closet has a wire shelving across at about 6ft. There is ten inches of gap from where the closet doors would close and where the shelving is fastened to the wall. That space could provide room for the colas to make use of the 2+ feet above the shelves. She is slightly taller on one side, this would work.

Also, we have her sister who is a taller girl, and three from seed that are going to need their space as well. The tent is fine, conditions are stable, the space may be outgrown during flower though.

Nice to have options regarding height...it's a major hassle to have plant get too large dureing bloom. Been there, done that.

Hey, and I am clearly no soil flushing expert...but when flushing due to nute salt build up...I've read you should wait at least a week before starting nutrients again. But rules are made to be broken, Sounds like you gave her a healthy feeding and hopefully no harm done...just tread lightly on the nutes.

Don't excessively flush however since your in organic soil, if you have to, then preoxygenate the water. Other than that, brother yor girl looks good man. You have made progress since your introduction on RIU. +rep brah-

Here's one from seed. Roots are growing through the felt pot at the sides and bottom, also growing above the soil at top. Currently in a 1 gallon, unknown seed, most likely platinum OG, has 9 fingered leaves at fourth node.

Transplanting, carefully to a 3 gallon. Same for taller sister.

I add lots of mykos to the root zone during transplants. I also get medicated prior.

I've noticed what I did.

the big girl has about 2 inches of coco on top of the soil.

To me, this means that any food/water going through those two inches of coco are being filtered/calibrated by the coco and the buffers it has mixed in.

Once the food reaches soil, it's pH is now altered.

I will will not make that choice again.

The way to do soil/coco is most likely coco on the bottom in a drip feed or bottom feed method, and just top feed the soil when needed.

At this point, with nearly 20+ leaves looking like near death, I chose to go for a top feed at 5.8 ph hoping that I would just inoculate the coco.

Transplanting this girl would be a lot of fun, and might be a best option. The flush still left the runoff at 7, and that's with the water passing through both coco then the soil.

I've got it now. Time for flower, and whatever these girls do will be fine by me, I've put them through enough, and here's to applying all this wisdom towards my next grow.

I'm not sure if the coco would have the impact that you are assuming it does. But IMHO. coco and soil together should be thoroughly mixed...and then treated like soil. The only time I've heard of coco layered is in a Hempy bucket where the bottom is rocks (in the res part) and coco from there on up. But I haven't kept up with all the odd things people are doing these days! lol
