Is it possible to speed up growth by 24hr lighting for photoperiod plant?

its not a race and at that age they are really just putting roots down, relax, soon it will take off, and don't give babby nutes that's the worst thing u could do

Don't over feed. Over watering will kill them. You can add co2 in the grow room to speed up growth. Look up DIY co2 generators.(sugar and yeast) 24 light cycle will actually start to slow them down after the first week or two. Plants do better with a dark period IMO.

You don't feed seedlings! You are supposed to have them under 24/7 lighting anyway at this stage. No less than 18/6. Why on earth do you WANT the thing to grow faster? If you figure out how to do that, post how you did it and I'm sure they'll make a sticky. That will help everyone here cut their harvest times down.
You got control issues, man......
NOTHING....no additives, nutrient regimens, magic pixie dust, secret methods etc will overcome the dictates of genetics. It's gonna grow at a rate mandated by it's genetics.

Hey, well I suggest from seeds keeping them under 18/6. You can look around at other grows as well to verify and you will see that 18/6 for vegging out is ideal. Plants in nature don't receive full sunlight. its just not needed. Be patient and give your plants rest and they will thank you later!!! GL

Well yes, you are RIGHT. not everything in nature is perfect. BUT at the same time can you verify with scientific evidence other than your own observation/grows? I mean IMO 24/0 is just a waste of electricity.. four days of 24/0 lighting equals one days lost of 18/6... patience is VIRTUE. but mehhhhh whatever floats your boat. obviously to each his own.

I've done all three 18/6, 20/4, 24/0. My plants seem to do best under 20/4, as does saving 4 hours of electricity. Its so minimal of a difference, I don't think it will matter. Could be a fun little exercise with some clones.
You can't beat nature and rush things. You're bound to trip up. The plant will do its thing, just give it a good environment and start with good genetics.
For the record, depending on the medium and fertilizer, you can start fertilizing at seedling stage. I've been using a small amount of Jacks after the first true set of leaves. When I did a side by side with some seedlings I noticed a tad quicker growth. By week three, it was noticeable. Using 60/40 FF perlite

MJ does not require a dark period during the veg stage. I've read tons on this question. you actually gain 42 hours of light a week with 24/7 which = more growth.
This would be a nice project for someone with room to test. But imo and everything I have read 24/7 is the way to go. "unless heat is a issue and you need to cool down the area"

last time i checked nature doesnt have 18 hours of light every day either lol
yeah i turn my lights to 18/6 in the summer during the peak heat hours because thats a battle i choose not to fight with my AC. plants do get used to cycles of light though ever notice how plants know when light is about to go off or come on inside? whatever floats your boat and makes you rest better at night is the light schedule i would go with.

Yeah, there are places that have 18 hours of sunlight in the peak of summer...
There are places that only have 6 hours of light in the peak of winter.
There are places that go 30 days without light at all in winter.
20/4 will do you better than 24/0.
i think 20000/0 will do better than 20/4
there has been studies on commercial food production and 24 hours of light did yield more product. as long as the plants leaf does not get damaged by 24 hours of light it will increase growth.
i said every day, theres no place that has 18 hours of light every single day and this is indoors anyway. also theres some places where you have 24 hours of light a day for months on end thats where im at.

18/6 or 20/4 is as much as I would run.
I think sativa dominants take to the extra daylight hours more than indica dominants.

But a plant growing faster will be larger when it's done. Fast meaning inches per week not total days.
