Christmas Trees and Parasites

Sitting here before Christmas looking at the tree I put in my house. I was thinking about how this tree from outside could be carrying parasites that could infect my harvest in the other room... Am I just being stoned and paranoid? I think a pine tree could not infect my plants because pines are highly defensive plants do to the sticky sap it produces. But I have been wrong before. Let me hear your thoughts on this situation.

Its not likely to happen, but could. Just make sure u havent been under the tree before u go into ur grow room. IF anything happens its because you walked them into it. Nothing should find its way to your grow room on its own.

My Christmas tree this year had a few small gnats? and I noticed that they got into my grow room. No biggie though, I did a light round of Mighty wash, which kills on contact and they were gone... Nothing serious though.

I can tell you for sure they can harbor mites, aphids, scale, and a variety of pests and pathogens.

The Christmas tree growers are not too concerned (like not at all) about introducing pests into your home plant growing environment. In the US Xmas trees are loosely regulated under USDA laws but enforcement falls upon the state. Which is, for all practical purposes, is not done.

Good thing is most bugs that want to feast on pine/spruce/fir trees won't wanna chomp on your marijuana.

But my bottom line point is... any green vegetation (even like a Xmas wreath) you bring into your house or grow environment can come with nasties. Most will not be interested in your MJ, and most that are interested are easily controlled.

Just sayin' ...... Something to keep in mind
