Strain Help Please

Hey folks,

So I am in the whole "looking for what strains for me" mode. I have officially gone cross eyed. So thought I would get some advice from some fellow growers.
I currently am shifting to organic scrog under 8bulb T5s in 3 gallon smart pots. I have been growing the same strain for a year mastering it and different grow styles, experimenting so and and so forth and im ready to invest in some genetics. Im planning on doing a perpetual grow with 4 plants under the light. Currently i have 10 plants in various stages of growth. Topped 4 times super cropped for a good even canopy. But im going to 3g pots.

I have a few things I'm looking for.

I need a strain that is a big producer/short turn around (like 50 days). I'm not as concerned with the "quality" so much on this one. Thinking of Whitewidow/bigbud cross. But VERY open to suggestions.
I have 2 insomniacs and one with chronic back pain (4 fused disks, arthritis, nerve damage, hes messed up) in the home and need something for them. Some straight up pain relief/NyQuil, coma, Klouse screaming at you "Sonny get up!!!!". If you know what I mean. Was looking at Medacann Blue Blood, just not seeing much for anyone thats grown it.
And then I'm looking for 2 strains that are "fun". 8 Weeks or less is preferred. I want them to be opposites so one a mostly sativa, other mostly indica. Thinking C99 for the sativa. Been seeing that it should be chopped at 50-55 days.
Last one I just dont know. Open to Ideas. Thinking Maybe Sugar Black rose

I find it interesting that while I was reserching what i wanted i was comparing the same plant on 3 sites, Herbies, attitude and Seed Finder and there were so many discrepencies I then Started crossing the strains with smoke reports here. then learned that some strains very GREATLY withing their phenotype. GHAA MENTAL MELTDOWN.

I can vouch for WWxBB sucking balls, not medicinal imho.....I had a 5 pack they were terrible....ranged in pheno from just big bud to more frosty almost white widowish in smell only....WW is actually a decent yielder in my experience no need for the BB I fell for it you don't lol

I like blue cheese too, only grew it once outdoors and I am pretty sure it was Barney's....it was fantastic.

i haven't tried mosca's potent pineapple C99s, but joey weeds' ones weren't a favorite because they were just motivational and euphoric with none of the sensory heightening psychoactivity that makes sati vas so much fun. if you could find it, what you'd really want is apollo 11, but otherwise, the fun stuff really starts happening at 9 weeks. it's really worth a couple extra weeks for the funner trippy effects textbook C99 lacks. i love me some jack's cleaner 2! it has some body thump, but also a warm, literally, happy body glow with a fun touchy feely effect, and it does visuals too! TGA has a few fun strains in the 9 week range. jack the ripper's supposed to be even trapper, and he has a couple apollo 13 crosses too, but i think "baby poo" is an A13 trait unlike fruitier A11, but those finish quicker even.

i never got to test my world of seeds' 25% NL#5 columbian golds, but they started out looking nice and i heard the one i ended up giving away was at least good, and that finishes in just 63-70 days. DNA's sweet haze is another 63 day strain and is nicely psychoactive, motivational, euphoric, sticky and fruity, but it also leans towards saliva stretch and would work best in a SCROG. i don't know how fast it finishes, but their lemon skunk is way more saliva leaning than skunk #1, tastes like lemongrass, and looks sexy with it's golden glow. i could be happy smoking nothing but that any day.

mandala's 8 miles high is extra fun and just 60-65 days! that's a good quickie for ya too

For your pain clients, certainly have a couple good indicas for pain management. I have a fucked up spine and nothing works better than a solid Indica.

Hazey, maybe you can help me out. My mom, (shes 55) was telling me about this smoke she got back in the 80s. She said they called it Columbian Red (according to her, due to all the red hairs) and she loved that. Any idea what she may be talking about in todays growing world?

I agree with you on the indicas for meds. Blue cheese and SBR fits the most of my categories.
And here is the thing, i proly wont buy any thing new for a year or so. Once i get times/rotations/max yields with a strain I dont like to deviate to much. This is just for personal use. My and the family. So with only growing 4-5 plants I want a solid range of flavors/effects/looks. All with fast flowering times. I think my list covers it. Im also looking for something unique for just me. Something I can smoke and play video games/wrench on the drag car/work. Dont care about time or yield. As it will be my personal stash. any thoughts. A motivational/energetic smoke so to speak.

Well you will have quicker flowering times with indicas, usually pure ones can be around or under 8 weeks. I have an afghan right now which will probably come down by 8 weeks at the look of it.

sounds like your mom's confusing columbian or acapulco gold with panama red, or whoever was giving it to her was misnaming it. the dealers i used to get columbian from always called it thai because "thai stick" was a big buzzword, pun intended in the 80s.

as to completing grows, i completed my first one, and yes, HAVE had problems with subsequent grows because of ever triflesome neighbors fucking with me as well as fucking landlords making EVERY excuse they could to invade my privacy every 2-3 months. you bet it's impossible to grow under those conditions.

I laugh at the thought of you smoking those poor, immature party cup plants. Jesus , move out or enforce your tenant rights. Ffs i grow in an apartment No problems. Quit your bitching, stop fighting your neighbors and actually grow a plant start to finish.
