Do i flush before i switch to flower and bloom nutes? When should I switch to 12/12??

Hello, this is my first grow so bare with me here..

So I just gave my 9 plants in 4 gal pots a full dose of nutes with their last watering of 5 gallons yesterday. They are all around 20" now except for 2 of my shorter indicas. My question is, should i feed them one more time with no nutes as a flush before i begin the 12/12 flower light cycle and their flower nutes?



My other question is, should i wait to flower them? i mean the tent im in is 5x5 ft and 7 ft tall. I have a mix of indicas, sativas and hybrids so I really dont know how big all of them will get. I've heard you can leave them in flower as long as you want it all just depends on how much space you have? Any advice would help. thanks

It's always a good idea to flush your plants at least every 3 weeks (even if there is no problem/deficiencies/over nutes) it's good to get the salt and sugar build up off your roots. It will help them absorb more of what they're looking for.


You can not flower your plants for as long as you want. They do reach their maturity point at some time. Meaning that the trichomes that hold the THC are fully mature and not under mature. If you do let them grow past their prime, the THC will start to dismiss, kinda like someone in their 20s quickly turning 60+....in this case! age is not beauty. Flowering usually takes up to about 7-8 weeks, I've seen some go 11 weeks, but it all depends on your strain. Research your strains. Hope this helps. Your plants look very healthy.

You should put them in flowering light cycle when you are ready. They actually look ready.
Just remember the fact that they will grow 2.5 to 3 times the size they are when starting the flower cycle.

Start flowering them now, and get some sort of screen in there for them to stretch up through and distribute, so late in flowering - they're supported, and your not stuck trying to tie up branches. IMO of course. Goodluck!

I was thinking about doing something like that, maybe tomoato support wires if you know what im talking about?? Or are you thinking more along the lines of a SCROG? Id be interested in scrog but i like to rotate and move each plants individually around the grow room, and occasionally take them out to take a good look at them or whatever it may be.. Is there a solution already out there to solve this??

Nutes for veg are BC Boost, BC Grow, MagICal, sugardaddy, and Thrive Alive B-1 - PH: 6.02 - PPM:1100

Still trying to figure out a nute setup for flowering.. Any suggestions for a first time soil grower??

You dont flush before you start your flowering nutes? I would think that it might be benificial to flush out the nitrogen rich nute deposits in the soil from veg so when you give your plants their first round of flowering nutes they are ready to use them.. I have no evidence to back that up, but it seems like it might be right??

Anybody else have anything to say about this??

Look at things this way. To pluck a number out of the air, half of growers do not flush, half do. The folk who do not flush do not from my own experience and everything i've read, notice anything different with their plant, the growth, the smoke, the taste, the smell, the high. So take that in mind then ask yourself how useful and important flushing must really be. (also consider that most who don't flush opted to do a side by side comparisson, no different than testing the rule of "you must leave tap water to sit for 24 hours"

If flushing was so vital as people like to claim, there wouldn't be an argument. It would just be the way, because noone would go out of their way to grow an inferior plant.

FLOWER NOW!!!!! the sativa's will stretch big time and you may run out of room for them!!!!!
1 No don't flush
2 your indica's will run 8-10+ weeks to full potential
3 The hybr. CAN run 2+ weeks longer
4 The Sativa's will run 14 to 28 weeks in flower depending on the breed! Equatorial sativa's run up to 28 weeks in flower. These would be landrace breeds....

You might as well stay with the nutrient BRAND your using now. Just use their flower formula's.

Ok, just so you know Dr. who, I don't have any super long flowering sativas. Most are 8-9 week flowering, and I think my raspberry kush will take closer to 11 weeks for flowering if I remember what the breeder said. With that being said, could it really go for 14 weeks?? Wow. I will initiate flowering tonight!
What is the best way to start the flowering? I've heard first night do 24 hours of dark cycle then go to 12/12? I've also heard to start with 14 hours of darkness and 10 hours of light for the first night then go to 12/12? Does this help jump start the flowering process?

Also, for my bloom nutes I have bc boost, bc bloom, sugar daddy, awesome blossom.. But I've been wondering about other products like big bud, bud candy, etc.. How much do they really help?

The whole light tricks when changing to flowering are gimmicks. There will be no discernable difference. Just stick it straight on 12/12

Just jump right to 12/12!!

DO NOT RUN ANY ADDITIVE LIKE BUD CANDY OR BIG BUD!!!!!!! You have everything you need on your list to get where you want to be !!!! Adding any of those will only throw off your P & K to "toxic" levels and create an early finish that will reduce overall quality!

The only thing I would add is a Humic acid like Mad Farmers N.U.T.S. or Gen Hydro's Diamond Nectar or Diamond Black (go easy and for now pick the least costly one).

Do not run veg "till stretch is over"

With what you have "I" would run like this.
Per Gallon add
15ml BC BLOOM
15ml BC BOOST
6ml SUGAR DADDY

Feed this mix for 4 weeks! START on the day you flip to 12/12

NOW water like this!

Nutrient 1st day
Water + 5ml Humic acid 2nd day
Water 3rd day
REPEAT!

At the beginning of week 5* add to the nutrient mix.
2.5ml of Awesome Blossom and continue use till wash
UP the SUGAR DADDY to 12ml and continue till wash

* At week 5 for the Indica's/Hybred's
and at week 7-8 for the Sativa's - Now I don't know what sativa's you have , But I've never had a sativa run under 12-14 weeks for the best result ( I have a Pineapple Express pheno that runs 12 AND SOMETIMES LONGER to reach peak potential, and the breeder {G13} used to state it at 8-9 weeks. That being said if they are a sativa dom. strain I might add the AB at 6-8, but I would have run them a couple of times to have found the best start point.......

Raspberry Kush should run, 8-10 weeks with 9-10 being the probable best finish time.

If I recall correctly UB use's Dyna Grow - GOOD STUFF! But if you would notice,,,Dyna Grow HAS a BLOOM formula you switch to for flower!!!!
In flower the plants "need" for P&K increase's and that's expressed by the "bloom" formula.....

I only gave him the ability to use what he has at a better rate then given by the manufacturer, so he can avoid the early P-K over use and resulting yellow out!

To be blunt the only "crock of shit" would be to NOT use a proper bloom formula!!!!
