The Obama administration filed a federal hate-crimes charge Thursday against a man whom authorities accused of using the “knockout game” to target a black man, videotaping it, and then bragging about the assault to strangers.

The charge marks the first time the administration has taken action on a “knockout” case after the game became an Internet and media phenomenon. It chose a case in which the person accused is white, even though most other cases reported in the news have involved black assailants.

The suspect made a video of the attack November 24, the complaint said. In the video, he allegedly commented that “the plan is to see if I were to hit a black person, would this be nationally televised?”

In this case, the man accused is 27-year-old Conrad Barrett who the Justice Department says attacked a 79-year-old black man in Fulshear, Texas, just west of Houston. Justice Department officials said they brought the case to make a point about hate crimes.

I say prosecute the fucker to the full extent of the law. I also recommend that DOJ pursue charges against everybody who does this shit. It's a pity the 79 year old man was not armed; it would have been nice to see him shoot the asshole to death.

I don't minimize or defend any of the crimes, white or black.

How exactly did I defend or minimize any of the things I posted? Maybe you took my sarcasm the wrong way cause I have no idea what you are talking about.

I was thinking the same thing, too bad the old dude didn't have a gun.
But the mainstream media would have been at odds, do they run a story about a white on black hate crime (big seller) or not, because there's hidden message supporting pro gun rights? LOL

It's a possibility I did, but if you weren't, the comment "yep, those poor, poor, whites." was misleading to say the least.

One major problem with the media and the authorities sweeping this "game" under the rug for so long is that most people were not even aware that mostly young black men and boys were assaulting mostly white people. Now that this has hit the news, a back lash by young white men and boys against mostly black people will probably arise. That is what happens when people think they are getting fucked by the authorities.

DOJ and local police should lower the boom on all these thugs and prosecute these assholes. If that results in mostly black men going to jail, then so be it. A reasonable person has to wonder what the media and cops are thinking when they let this shit slide for so long.

Totally agree.

But I have to say, when the blacks are knocking out innocent whites, I think it's more of a young thug thing than a black thing in general.
I'm willing to bet that if any of the thugs had a father at home and he found out about it, the young punk would get a knockout of his own.
