Hey supra, quick question. Should i use the kingbrite 120°lens or no lens. I see growmou5 uses lens but ive read some post saying the lens penalize the cobs and some that say they help. I need your help. Thanks
You rock! thanks for all the info on DIY LEDs. Do you know anyone other than Jerry where I could buy COBs from a high bin? The best bin he has for the 3590 is CD, and he doesn't have any CXB1820. I am having a hard time finding any COBs from one of the top 2 or 3 bins. My goal is 45k lumens while staying under 300W. I like the idea of the 1820 because I can get a good variety of 2700k,3500k, and 5000k
Hey supraspl. Thanks for all your posts and help. Can you give me your opinion on if you think the cxb 3590 3500k top bin is worth the price increase over the cxa 3070 3500k top bin? $53 vs $22.5. Thanks i ask because you have that experience with both and i trust your advice. Thanks
Hi , Supra I'm running a lpc-60-1400 on a cxb3590 36v in a space bucket setup (http://www.spacebuckets.com) and would like to know how far away do you recommend from the cob , I have two 5 gallon buckets stacked now. .
Hi supra. Would you drop by bin comparison 2 thread? Seems like something off with the numbers to me. Colder spectrum consistently higher ppfd/w when colder light should hace fewer, but more energetic, photons per watt. Im a noob so not too sure. Check?
I'm in a small cabinet so I have the COB's on a 28" x 5" heatsink with the fans and fins outside of the box. Most of the heat radiating bits are outside. Cab temp is +5F over ambient and I think I'm generating about 950micromols. Any thoughts on this setup? Thoughts on optimizing for thermal over electrical efficiency? Appreciate your continued contribution to the community. Best, j
Sup - I recently built a five COB light, all CXB3590, three 3000K and two 5000K. I'm running them on HLG-240H-36 for the 3000K's and a HLG150H-36 for the 5000K's, in parallel. I noted that most are using a single driver per COB, is there an advantage to doing so? I'm optimizing for maximum photon output while not pushing the COB too extinction.
Hi Supra,
Appreciating the science that your bringing to the community !
I was wondering if you advocate the use of lenses ? I've been through the forums and there seems to be some conjecture ?!
Thanks in advance
Howsit Supra, Please can you help me out. Long story short i can easily get my hands on a pair of vero 29's 4000k. Will be used in a pc for full cycle grow. Need to know if they will work and if they will what drivers are recommended? Thank you http://www.rollitup.org/t/a-little-help-needed-please-lighting-question.905779/
I found this in a comment of you.
Cree CXB3590 3500K 80CRi CD bin $43 ea @1.4A (50W) 56% efficient typical - cost $1.56/PAR W
Cree CXB3590 3500K 80CRi CD bin $43 ea @.7A (23W) 64% efficient typical - cost $2.93/PAR W
could please also post about the 1050 driver?
thanks for the advice. I ordered the two 50W drivers. I also ordered some of the other drivers you recommended in threads for S&G. I also am waiting for a HLG-240H-C2100. Another poster told me that is another good driver for the 36V, CXA3590 @300W.
Need your advice, you are master in cobs stuff 1. what cobs provider is better cutter or jerry (mean about quality)? 2. I wanna order about 30x cxb3590... should i choose only 3500 K or mixed? 3) can u tell my how many and what kind of driver i should buy ?
accorging to me: 32 cxb 3500 K cd; 700 mA 4*Nean well HLG-185-c700b its the best option for grow+veg cabbinet?
