Distance to Plants for CREE CXB3590 (@1650mA, w/ Lenses)

Yes I can dim put I'd rather move them away, have them at almost 20" now. It's really like "something" taking out the cholorophyll of the leaves. My guess, for now, some extreme deficiency brought on (exacerbated) by the new lights because one thing is for sure, since I have the lights the...

Distance to Plants for CREE CXB3590 (@1650mA, w/ Lenses)

It seems the spots (which look FAR worse in reality than on the pics, by the way) seem to be anywhere, new growth, old growth, backside of plants and leaves which are covered. I didn't mist EXCEPT two days ago because someone suggested mites so I sprayed insecticidal soap. Besides I never had...

Distance to Plants for CREE CXB3590 (@1650mA, w/ Lenses)

With the exacerbate CalMag issues, there might be something to it. I always had/have CalMag issues (or what it looks like it) at some point in my grows. Notice I didn't change anything, using the same routine/tap water/nute I did before. The organic nutes I use bring my very hard tap water down...

Distance to Plants for CREE CXB3590 (@1650mA, w/ Lenses)

This is not my first grow but I am seeing really weird stuff since I switched from Marshydro 300W to my 4x CXB3590. Plants have TONS of white/yellow spots which at 1st look like mites but I am 99,99% sure it's no bugs. Plants also feel crumbly dry, and some of the plants simply don't look...

Help!! Tiny White Specs, Plants Dying - But No Spider Mites!

NVM, I am an idiot. I was mixing up spider mites with white flies. So I might have mites. I sprayed with insecticidal soap for now.

Help!! Tiny White Specs, Plants Dying - But No Spider Mites!

Short info to my grow: Growing some feminized (Northern Lights, Somango) and some Autos, the problem doesn't show on all strains/plants, some look perfectly fine without the dots. I am growing in soil, and as nutes I am using "PlantMagic Organic Oldtimer", currently watering maybe once a week...

    Led Users Unite!

Looking at specs, the Apollo 8 seems (pretty much) the same as my (now retired) Marshydro 300Ws lights. I don't *think* that the light itself is reason for your problems, especially not at 22" which is way far for those types of light. Could there be any reason that there is another problem...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Yeah I'd like information on how lenses intensify the lights because I use lenses :) For now, plants look fine, I dont see any light burn. Distance 11-17" (different height plants in my green house) WITH lenses. Lights driven at 1650mA.

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

1x CXB3590 for your area (0.209 sqm) would be about 580-600ish PPFD which is on the low side. Moving the light UP would not make things better, in fact it would make things worse since the intensity of the light decreases with distance - same as with a low W light. You also want penetration down...

Yeah I switched to CREE CXB3590s now, plants are doing great:) Vero 29 are also very good.

Just to come back to that eternal topic...MarsHydro... There are worse companies than MarsHydro, far worse... Yesterday I had on another forum someone asking about a grow light "Masauwu" "180W" growlight with "real 3W Epistar" OMGZ!!11 chips. They sell it on amazon for €215. It has your...

Got Mylar/Silver Diamond Sheeting, Now I Feel Ripped Off

I was looking into the black/white sheets too, maybe next time. One major problem with mylar/silver reflective stuff is when I foliar spray, or just from the dust outside, after a few months it gets dirty with white calcium stains from the water. I guess this wouldn't matter with white sheeting.

Got Mylar/Silver Diamond Sheeting, Now I Feel Ripped Off

Well now you freaked me out, because mostly retroreflection would of course be really bad. So I made some (unscientific) tests with a piece of the mylar, seems to me that most of the light is reflected "properly" tho. (I guess this would depend on the individual shape of the embossed pattern on...

Got Mylar/Silver Diamond Sheeting, Now I Feel Ripped Off

I would, but it's a greenhouse without actual walls that I could paint. Another good option I think would be plain, white styrofoam sheets. Insulation, reflection, light diffusion, light blocking...all in one :)

Got Mylar/Silver Diamond Sheeting, Now I Feel Ripped Off

Previous I had my grow space covered with those bubble car sun-shields from the dollar store, they actually work surprisingly well although I don't have numbers of their reflectivity. So in an attempt to upgrade I spent the last few days researching reflective sheeting and so I came across...

    CXB3590 1500W

I just yesterday read a thread by one of the pros (Supra or Realstyles) where they measured CXB3070/CXB3590 and it seemed as if both LEDs are performing almost the same when driven low/medium, say at 1400mA. Quickly going over the CREE tool, when I compare the two I see roughly 10% more lms for...

    CXB3590 1500W

Just out of curiosity, did you ever happen to measure the actual power draw of your "1200W King light"? Let me guess, 340W? Someone on another forum measured their "900W" light, turns out each of the 150x "6W" LEDs draws only 1.7W, so it's not more than your standard 3W Epistar LED, actually...

    Argh..you are correct 1.2x.1.2 = 1.44 sqm. Sorry ;P

    CXB3590 1500W

While we're at it... Is there a list of common LER / QER values for common COBs/LEDs? If we had this we could post a thread for folks how to easily calculate their light requirements. (Only knowing LER /QER for CXB3590 3500K 36V I don't see much sense doing this)
